Georgiev is ridiculously bad and it’s kinda embarrassing the Sharks play him.

There’s a 5 month age gap between Kostin and Kovalenko. There’s just not a ton of upside there.

And you’re right. There is no trade value in Georgie’s contract as in zero. We took him for basically free when in reality, like Goodrow’s deal (even though he does have additional years) we should have gotten far more than we did.
There’s also a significant experience gap in North America that makes Kostin much more of a certainty to be nothing whereas seeing more than one season of Kovalenko is rushing to judgment.

As for Georgiev, the market suggests something dramatically different than what you’re suggesting. I have no idea what makes you think Georgiev at 2.9 mil expiring costs any team far more than what they got. Goodrow is hardly comparable when he’s got term.

and a lot of people thought that maybe he would be a better starter.
Including the GM of the Colorado Avalanche....

That mistake cost us dearly..... not only last season, but he cost us at least a better seeding in the Central with his play in october and november..... Thats where we lost a ton of points because our "starter (s)" could stop a beach ball.

As many have said, who gives a shit? We get a top 3 pick this year and have a starter waiting in the wings for next year. We sign a vet 1B guy like Allen and never look back. Georgiev was the price of doing business to get assets for Blackwood.
