If Amazon got the full deal, it wouldn’t be, just sign up for Prime, you’re going to have to by a an Amazon hockey package in that case.
Doubtful. Has Amazon done this with any of the other sports properties they've acquired?

with prime here in Sweden, you can buy extra packages inside, like MGM movies, i dont know how it is in Canada, maybe they are included, since your price seem to be much higher, its like 5-5.5 Us dollar here. There are annual and monthly options for Prime
That won’t happen as it a Canadian deal, there will be minimum one Canadian team playing. My prediction is that Rogers and Amazon will team up to renew Rogers' excusive national deal and it will be something ike this:
.
- I could also see Amazon getting a night of USA-only games (basically pickups of US broadcasts).
- Amazon also gets an expansion of their NHL coast-to-coast look-in show (possiby to Saturdays and Tuesdays in addition to the current Thursdays.
I was assuming that the package of Amazon American games would come out of the US-only games that Sportsnet airs. That won’t happen as it a Canadian deal, there will be minimum one Canadian team playing.

Tuesdays and Thursday are regional nights.

I doubt that, as there are 7 regional deals, you can’t take nights or games away from an existing deal.2. It's a new TV deal. They can make whatever night they want regional or national windows.
Actually, I'm pretty sure the 2014 Rogers deal did just that. I remember there being talk that some of the money from that deal was being paid to some Canadian teams in exchange for regional games becoming national.I doubt that, as there are 7 regional deals, you can’t take nights or games away from an existing deal.
Don’t recall that at all.Actually, I'm pretty sure the 2014 Rogers deal did just that. I remember there being talk that some of the money from that deal was being paid to some Canadian teams in exchange for regional games becoming national.
Window empty?
Wasn’t expecting any announcement, they need to up their game now, after NHL has seen the quality of picture Amazon puts out.I assume if there were any whispers out there, they’d be posted already? #RogersOut
Would like to see Amazon/TSN as the National/Regional Broadcasters with TSN doing all of the Free Agent/Trade Deadline/Draft coverage and Amazon getting 4 National Games a week (1 on Monday...1 on Wednesday...2 on Saturday) with joint rights with CBC on Saturday (as mandated by law, IIRC). Otherwise all Canadian teams will have regional broadcast coverage through TSN.
Prefer Amazon Prime for a national right and maybe give CBC a Saturday night slot under Amazon Prime control but no Leafs game at 4pm local time when they play out in the west and force them to start their games at 7pm PST when they are on the road on a Saturday night. I like their coverage as they do not focus on other teams but rather focusing on match-up itself and player focused feature on the same night. Giving them a taste of Prime's picture quality for potential subscription by other Canadians feeling skeptical of their coverage. I love their pre-game coverage, no commentary and just players warming up and feeling like we're in the arena getting jacked up for the game. Miss the start of the game? No problem jump right to the replay even the game is live without knowing any of the score when you go on their website.
Yeah...I thought at some point they did, but I read that Sportsnet's deal gave them exclusivity and they had a deal with CBC. I thought I remembered, when I was living there, that the CRTC mandated that CBC carry something...but now I don't remember.I dont believe it's mandated by law that CBC has to air games on Saturday nights.
Rogers made the deal with them because HNIC is a massive brand and a country wide institution. They don't even have join rights and CBC can't afford to outbid anyone to get the rights back.
