There are annual and monthly options for Prime
with prime here in Sweden, you can buy extra packages inside, like MGM movies, i dont know how it is in Canada, maybe they are included, since your price seem to be much higher, its like 5-5.5 Us dollar here.
They have Premier League soccer live(havent watched) but that is included, but it seems to be just a game here and there.

Edit: I payed 49:50$ for one year of Prime

My prediction is that Rogers and Amazon will team up to renew Rogers' excusive national deal and it will be something ike this:
  • Saturdays: Rogers gets the primary early and late games and any tertiary or lower games. Amazon gets the seconday early and late games. I think CBC could still remain as a simulcaster of the SN primary games.
  • Mondays: Amazon gets the Monday night package.
  • Wednesdays: Rogers gets the Wednesday night package.
  • I could also see Amazon getting a night of USA-only games (basically pickups of US broadcasts).
  • Amazon also gets an expansion of their NHL coast-to-coast look-in show (possiby to Saturdays and Tuesdays in addition to the current Thursdays.
  • NHL Out-of-Market Package moves from Sportsnet+ Premium to Amazon as a Prime subscription channel. It would be distributed using Amazon's technology rather than SN's.
  • Playoffs: Amazon gets two gets two first round series and one second round series (if possibe, featuring Canadian teams)
And of coueaw, as always, I could be wrong.

That won’t happen as it a Canadian deal, there will be minimum one Canadian team playing.

Tuesdays and Thursday are regional nights.

I was assuming that the package of Amazon American games would come out of the US-only games that Sportsnet airs.

I wasn't referring to broadcasting games on Tuesday or Thursday nights. Currenty, Prime in Canada airs a live look-in show on Thursday nights called NHL Coast to Coast. You're just getting highlights and short look-ins on all the games going on. Clearly, there's no issue with it on a regional night as that is when it currently airs.

1. Sportsnet broadcasts many, many games that involve only American teams. Like tons of them. They mostly just pick up an American RSN feed for cost savings. In the old days TSN would often produce their own broadcasts involving US teams.

2. It's a new TV deal. They can make whatever night they want regional or national windows.
