This is rare for me, but i'm glad he's gone and i'd have a tough time caring lol.

That said I hope he finds his game and can find a career somewhere. Just far away from CO.

Thank you Georgiev. I know most people hate you here, but when I watched you, all I ever saw was a guy trying his hardest, but often not playing well enough. All I can really ask for the players I watch is effort, and you did that. Hopefully you have a good career as a backup or the KHL. Obviously things didn't work out here because of how poorly you played, but I genuinely hope you figure things out and become a good goalie.
This post feels like @MarkT found out where @Sea Eagles lived, killed him and stole his skin and then started typing that shit up.

Hope he can find an NHL role and finds happiness in the process. He didn't play up to the standard needed, but I don't really like the way we pile on people here when they're down.

I just can't find the sympathy.. Given many chances, a weird level of support from the coach, and slashing team mates pretty much evaporated any sympathy he should get.

He's made a nice chunck, and if he gets his act together after being left at the alter twice he may make a career as a high end backup.

In this instance, I don't feel scorn is unfair.

To each their own, and I understand the response, and need to vent.

I just don't feel it benefits anybody, and it's a bad habit to get into, where it may eventually do someone harm in life. Compassion is the better route always IMO.

This situation aside, in general there's a level of mob mentality online, as each person reads a harsh response, and that inspires them to make a harsher response than they would have originally, and it starts to snowball. Just feels a little gross to me at times, but it's all good.

I have a friend who moved to Denver who has become an Avs fan and she and her husband go to lots of games, and we didn't need this board to roll our eyes and talk shit about him. Not to the extent of it on here, because there's hundreds of you maniacs, but I think the general consensus of any Avs fan was that Georgie was way way done here, past expiration of hope.

Telling though that this is a fair response IMO.

You know I have a harsher view of things, but I respect the sentiment.

Stats highlight: In his second to last game for the Avs, he let in 4 goals in only 11:49, giving him a GAA of 20.31 over a full game.
Most goals scored by one side in an NHL game is 16 goals back in the year 1920.
What I'm saying is, he could have broken a 100 year record if Bednar didn't pull him!

In all my years of fandom, the two players I’ve wanted out badly have been Russell Wilson and georgiev. I won’t apologize for it either. RW was plastic and fake, and it grated my nerves. Georgiev was probably compounded by the avs insistence of not moving him when they should have.

after thinking about it for a day, i don't actually dislike georgiev the way i dislike grubauer. he was a headcase, he was (allegedly) sort of a prick, i hated watching him in an avs uniform for a year or more, but i really wanted him to work out, to get himself figured out and be the man, and for a while at the start it seemed like he did. i'm glad that he has the all-star game, at least.

and i never have to cheer for him again lmao let's go avs

He seemed like a bad fit at best. A shitty goalie with head problems at worst.

I’m just happy we moved on from him. I think I can now feel comfortable watching games again and not want to pull the hair off my head in frustration.

Now if we can just keep Choo Choo off the rails in the playoffs we’ve got a hell of a chance again.

I'll appreciate the great first season. But i think us having two character veteran goalies (like frankie and kuemper) is what the team needs. Its really too bad Georgiev never had 2 seasons of frankie as his backup.
