His own tracker showed very different numbers...

Drouin raised about the same amount of money but did not create a scenario that got his name on an atrium.

You could ask Montreal Hospital Foundation if this whole affair prevent you to sleep at night.

But for the sake of the argument let's pretend it will take twice as long to raise that 10M, it's still 10M going to people in need.... and really.... there is NOTHING wrong with that.

And where was he for those years? Another country you say. I for one am shocked, absolutely shocked that his commitment was harder to fulfill when he was relocated, by no choice of his own, to another country. In a pandemic no less.

I thought that was taken down ?
It was. That is from waybackmachine. The internet is forever.

Yes, asking a simple question means not being able to sleep at night.

It sure seem to affect you more than anyone else tho.
His pledge helped 30000 people so far, as per MHF, it's a good thing no matter how you look at it.
Where did I ever mention it is not a good thing? It is just not "the thing" he hyped 7 years ago that got his name on the atrium. $3 million is a huge amount to raise but is only 30% of what he pledged.

Yup, he really seems to have lost interest in it.

That seems to be a "you" issue more than a me issue.
I don’t think you know what you’re talking about but I’m sure you’re enjoying the attention.

Why don’t you contact the hospital and the foundation and find out about the situation instead of speculating here in bad faith?

I pledge to do just that.

Is it or are you making things up?

Is a pledge enforceable?

No. Generally, a pledge does not constitute a contract, and is not enforceable.
As far as I know, this pledge is binding

Its in french sorry

Don't apologize for it being in French :) I understand this is an English hockey forum, but the team we support is based out of a province where French is the only official language and it's bound that a ton of the information will be in French.

In any case, if what Laraque says is true (jealousy from media, players, fans), it's pretty low.
I don't read the traditional newspapers or watch sports channels outside of games so idk if it was that blatant? He claims that media people spew a bunch of nonsense for Subban's retirement day (like how the money he gave the hospital wasn't is? Is that true that someone wrote that lol?)

Legally it isn't.

But the sweet irony here, is all the "hype" and "high profile" event surrounding the pledge the mouthbreathers keep complaining about are kinda binding, at least morally, everyone knows about it and there is no hiding from it for PK.

Subban is both the spokeperson and a board member for MCHF, it's pretty obvious that he intend to make good on his promise, because he seems to legitimately care about the cause.

Sounds like they playing race card as a type of crutch. An O.J.Simpson type maneuver. Subban's attitude reason his career ended like it did. Thought he was bigger than team, wouldn't play in team structure. Fights with teammates, turnover machine, slew footing dirty player. Why his career ended early, nobody would offer him a contract.

He had the skill to be a Chelios or Lapointe. But he cut his own career down. Not the colour of his skin.
Yeah...who would ever think that race played a factor in how a black hockey player was viewed in the sport of hockey.

Unimaginable, Impossible...we all know hockey and tolerance go together like white on rice.

P.S. - "playing the race card" is an awful way to describe pointing out discrimination. It's reductive and serves only to make those who feel slighted, whether justified or not, feel guilty for feeling the way they do. I'd encourage you to examine your use of said terms.

Normand trashed Subban and celebrated Chara on Laraque's show, he was probably upset and answered back with the truth. Laraque knows what he's talking about when it comes to the people in the league. I trust his take more than i trust Norman's
Well actually my post isn't exact, he trashed Chara by opening his show, before Normand came in with "Quand Marc a échangé Subban c'était la plus belle journée pour moé" that was actually pretty funny even though it was in bad taste.

who cares, he led a life of luxury and has tens of millions of dollars, a life we could only dream of. This goes for PK or any other athlete that hangs em up.

50k in 2020
0k in 2021

Seems he only donated another 50k since 2019.
He was at 30% in 2019.

I haven't read or listened to everything, but from what I saw most people know that PK was a huge player for us. Even Max Lapierre who said he didn't particularly liked PK's extravagance at the time came to realize he was ahead of the curve and now respects him a lot for it.

Michel Therrien also said he really like coaching him, that he was a gamer.

It's a bigger story than it needs to be. Pretty much everyone loves PK.
The same Michel Therrien who went ballistic on PK giving up the puck to Jerome Iginla late in the game who scored on a breakaway that Patches put in a lame effort trying to catch Iginla?! In the pursuing empty net 6 on 5 opportunity, PK was benched.

If I remember right yeah it was a terrible call and I hated that they seemed to punish PK more than others. It did seemed like his personality had something to do with it too, so I agree with your point.

But, as Therrien said, in the end he liked PK and played him a lot. Hence my point that despite some bad coaching calls, he was viewed as an important part of the team.
