Some screenshots from my latest city. Note: This game has really good graphics, I just keep them down due to having a below average PC, and preferring smooth gameplay.

This is what happens when you start to macro instead of micro. Those garbage trucks spawned, like, immediately after I built 4 landfills and 2 incineration plants.

I like the cargo trains. Very useful, as long as you keep them on their own rails. As you can see, I have a separate passenger line set up well in advance, because I just like rail transport. Also, elevated rails ftw.

Energy? 100% renewable until about 30k citizens. Here is the beautiful mix of cutting-edge green tech and good old water treatment facilities.

Currently, I produce most of my energy with wind & adv. turbines, two solar power plants and a nuclear plant, because I like zero emissions. I do have an oil plant and a natural gas plant though, because they're efficient & don't do much harm on heavy industry districts, which I have quite a few of.

Finally, a sunken plaza in middle of a park in middle of a roundabout. How beautiful is THAT? The modders have done a good job already, and there's more and more content pouring in.

I need a new computer in order for me to get that game too :( damnit I need to splurge and get my XPS13

Chuck Fletcher found a new job after I unseated him as the Wild GM, in EHM.

Guess which team picked him up?!

So in EHM I must have messed up a setting so I can't do anything with Iowa's Roster.

Is there some way for me to fix this ?

I have a few prospects that should be playing but they're just sitting there not playing.

I looked at this, as well, and it appears that you can't set lines for the AHL team. Wish you could, I'd like to have Graovac on the top line. They have him on the fourth line.

Darn. That is extremely disappointing.

I traded for Zane McIntyre and the guy never got any playing time. Anders Lee (another trade) only got playing time when guys were injured, even though he is better than most of the forwards in Iowa.

Also picked up Grayson Downing (of course) and Casey Bailey. Both signed contracts but stayed in NCAA for the season, somehow. Tuch played in the USHL all year rather than at BC.

This game has some crazy attention to detail at times and completely swings and misses on other things.

I'm sure we're not the only ones who are noticing this, so hopefully the devs add that ability in.

You can set formations for all your youth teams in Football Manager (Hell, you can even coach all your youth team games if you want), so I would imagine it would be something they could easily implement into EHM.

One of my late draft picks is 19 still playing in highschool. So yeah, some little kinks to work out still in that game.

A couple good games that are warring for my limited time at the moment.

Bloodborne (PS4) - I cannot say enough good things about this game. It's got it's hooks in me . . . deep.

Pillars of Eternity (PC) - CRPG by Obsidian. So far, very good game. By the same folks that made the Baldur's Gate games which I'm sure most classic RPG players, me included, consider it one of (if not the) the best RPG's of all time.

Why I haven't heard anything about Pillars of Eternity? I absolutely love BG's, and BG2 is in my top-5 games of all time. Right up there with Diablo 2 LoD, Megaman 2, Fallout 2 and Fallout NV.

It was just released last Thursday I think, a Kickstarter success. I haven't got too far in to it (see Bloodborne :) ), but it feels very much like BG. Top down, fixed, pre-rendered environments. Not set in the Forgotten Realms Universe or based on D&D rules, but super similar. Everything feels very good and the story seems solid. Reviews are very good so far.

I kinda promised to myself I wouldn't buy new games before the summer... Yet I bought EHM just recently but haven't played it really, because I know I'll go mad about it if I start.

Anyone else having problems with EHM crashing in the 2nd year around December? Happens when I check my messages.

Pros/Cons of my first EHM season:

Pro: Parise had 112 points in 81 games, got the Art Ross, the Hart, the Lady Byng and was second in the league in goals (Ovechkin got 72 goals lol)

Con: Didn't know how to manipulate the roster at first and accidentally sent Fontaine and Prosser through waivers. Lost them both.

Pro: Chris Stewart had 78 points in 81 games. And then signed a three year deal worth 5.25 million dollars. Total.

Con: Put Spurgeon on the trade block and the best offer thus far was a straight up trade for...Christian Folin, who is now a player for the Devils.

Pro: Vanek got the Conn Smythe with 32 points in 21 games en route to helping the team win the Stanley Cup.

Con: Traded Cooke and Coyle for Brad Marchand, Zane McIntyre, and a 2nd round pick. Marchand went on to play in 80 games and scored...28 points. McIntyre never played in the AHL but I did manage to get some NHL games for him near the end of the season. Coyle had 59 points in 82 games for Boston. Cooke put up ~30 or something.

Fun game, but the lack of detail when trying to handle the AHL and ECHL as a whole is extremely bothersome. I sign a ton of really promising prospects and none of them are going to get playing time in the AHL because the game is going to set up a bunch of scrubs to play instead.

Not quite that far yet. I'll get back to you.

Isn't this game all simulation? So you never play the games yourself? How in the world would Parise get 112 points and all the hardware? Or can you manipulate ratings?

Yeah it's all simulation and no I didn't manipulate any ratings. It just happened.

What was really strange was that he had 112, Stewart had 78, and their center, Koivu, had 50 points.

There are some strange happenings though. Like Ovechkin getting 72 goals and 110 points total. John Tortorella becoming GM of Colorado. Randy Carlyle becoming coach of Colorado. And Colorado trading Erik Johnson straight up for Jason Demers.

Weird. No way Koivu's getting 50 with those two around him.

Sounds like it could be entertaining, though I don't think it's something I'll ever buy.

Jeez, and I thought Parise was beasting in my game!

He's got 26 points through 24 games for me, so far.

Anyone know of a way to get the game into full screen? As it is now, it doesn't stretch to fit the screen, it's a smaller box. As if you were watching something in SD on an HD TV, with the black bars on the sides.

It's not for everyone, I've had friends look at me cockeyed when I explain Football Manager to them.

"So, you don't even get to PLAY the game?!"

But it can be immensely satisfying (in Football Manager and EHM) to set up your tactics, tailored to beat a specific team, and have your plan work to perfection. On the other side of the coin, it can also be agonizing as you watch the opposing team score a goal to win late in the game, haha.

Just looked through some of the league leaders in points in my simulation. Alexander Semin had 84 points:laugh:

I remember when EA released NFL Head Coach. I bought it. It was okay, but boy did that game bomb.

Is Football Manager pretty fun? I watched a few videos on it and was considering it. Seems like a game I could get lost in for a while. I'm down to destroy some of my social life. Convince me this is a solid $50 purchase.

Football Manager is fantastic. And you will get lost in it.

It's basically EHM but it's much, much, much deeper.

It's just a ton more polished (which makes sense, because it's been a yearly release for years, whereas EHM hasn't been made since 2007). From what I understand, EHM is basically the Football Manager guys' side project. This is why you'll see some British terminology in EHM (i.e. "banned" instead of "suspended")

I think the soccer promotion/relegation style just lends itself very well to a game like this. Playing as a low level team, and getting them promoted is so fun. Particularly because when you get promoted, the next season is a freaking BATTLE just to stay up and not get relegated  In FM14, I took Bristol City from League 1 to the EPL. Playing the big boys like Chelsea and Man U were like white knuckle battles, trying to score first and then hang on for dear life, haha.

The tactics are really fun, you set your formation, and in addition to your base tactics, there are probably damn near 50 different "instructions" you can give your team, to really mold how they play.

And they have a 3D match engine, so it's kind of fun to watch the matches play out actually in 3D, as opposed to the 2D view in EHM.

Oh, tyratoku, I found out about a workaround to the not being able to control your AHL team issue.

Just add a new GM in the game. In the settings dropdown menu.

You can set your AHL GM options so you don't have to coach the games. And then you have full control over Iowa's lines and tactics.
