OT: General Video Game Discussion VII

I'm so one dimensional. Whenever I play video games I only play one game, and that's World of Tanks. I dunno, the game is still really fun for me even after a year and couple months of playing it and I'm trying to get into one of the best clans on the North American server right now. Maybe I'll buy a PS4 eventually, but certainly not right now, especially with school and work about to pick up even more the next couple months.
Less than nine hours until Halo is in my hands.
Well, not really because I got the download preloaded on my X1 but that's beside the point.

I'm sooo pumped. Have been playing Halo 3 all day to get ready! To bad I got to work at 3 am and can't play at midnight.

Bungie servers
I play Destiny a ton, and the servers feel like taking a hot lava dump randomly throughout the day. Portals glitching and really annoying sound glitches in the raid? Lets instead make teleporting random instead of strategically planned!

343 didn't see this coming...? Matching making hasn't worked since the early release gamers got it. Ironic that the game that started match making 10 years ago is having this problem.

Yep. First console FPS online multiplayer so you'd think they get it right. They use Azure servers which have a great reputation and fans of other games beg developers to use them. Such a shame for probably the Xbox One's biggest launch so far

Assassin's Creed: Unity is by far the best looking game I've personally seen on XB1/PS4. Visually fantastic.

Strongly considered faking sick today but my coworkers are too game-savvy and would've known what was up.
Halo, Assassin's Creed, and Forza Horizon 2 are all sitting prepaid at Target waiting for me to pick 'em up. So pumped.
BTW, if people didn't know about it, ALL GAMES are B2G1 at Target this week.

Anyone got any tips for winning faceoffs on nhl15 eashl? My center is maxed out on faceoffs but I'm only a level 68 so I think that has something to do with it but I'm lucky to win 10 a game.

It was not at all what I expected. I guess the battle system is just good enough that it can engage someone more action oriented like myself.
I enjoyed it.
Disappointed in how easy the final battle was tho. Next time I start from scratch I need to take it on with characters that have not completely climbed their tech trees or been powerleveled in the Ocean Palace for two hours.
Or maybe I need to just make my characters badass enough to take on Lavos and win in the Ocean Palace.
Hm. I should have a savestate from right before that particular fight. Maybe I should load it up and try some **** out.
Wish they would have given Magus some double techs. A shadow magic enhanced melee attack from Crono or Ayla would probably have been something awesome to watch.
Also Omega Flare is awesome. Wish I'd known how to use that before I beat the game and lifted my self-imposed spoiler avoidance mode. Probably makes a joke out of Lavos' final two forms. To beat the game I was rolling with Frog, Magus, and Lucca. Had a nice rhythm going with those three.

They really should have waited a week or so to do that promotion. That way people could choose between COD:AW, Assassin's Creed: Unity, Far Cry 4, AND GTA 5 on next gen. Right now they only have the first two.
AC: Unity is a decent game so far. I have it on PC, and it's terribly unoptimized (as are most Ubisoft games that they port directly from consoles). Looks amazing though, and the freerunning is just leagues better than it was in Black Flag (shouldn't even really consider that an AC game tbh). I also don't know why it took them this long to introduce upwards/downwards free-running, as in you can hold a different button combo to free-run descend, instead of just constantly dropping from ledges. Just makes it so much more fluid to free run, especially when it's in Paris and it's just constant rooftops everywhere.

Crappy deal in the sense that someone might not to get 3 games, I guess. But I don't see how getting a game for free is crappy
I think they knew that and that's why they didn't. They didn't want to lose that much revenue from people taking advantage of the promotion with those particular games.

Unfortunately. It's more about the money than it is our convenience. Just how the world works.
The real fun of CT is starting a new game+ and taking on Lavos earlier and earlier. The various times you can fight him lead to different endings.
Plus, with all the stat increase stuff, you can get some crazy powerful characters.
Magus was such an awesome character, though. The back and forth with him and Frog was so much deeper than expected from a game of that time. Same with all of Robo's stuff.
SNES JRPG's were so far ahead of their time... I still think FF6 is the best I've played. That game had so much heart, some of the best music in gaming... I could go on and on.
