OT: General Video Game Discussion IX

  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you created an account after March 2024, it no longer exists. You will need to sign up again to access the forum.
    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

Bill Guerin 3?
*Shudders* Nothing that evil. Just a game full of things like squid headed people who eat the brains out of you while you're still alive, devils who want you to sign totally harmless contracts, and a cult that is bent on domination... but the masses are stupid so it's in their own best interests, of course! Benevolence!

But if you're actually asking, it's Baldur's Gate 3.

The possibilities for BG3 are endless. Drunk mode, of course. Impulsive trade feature, natch. FU button?

I finally bought BG3 during the Steam sale. Now I need to figure out if I'm going to stream it or not.
Played through both BG I & II back in the day and have been playing BG 3 for the past 2 weeks. Definitely enjoying it. Haven't been able to stay engaged in a video game like this in probably 10 years.

I want to play it so bad, but am holding off for a few more days so I don't get sucked in. I have 2 tests and a major paper due this weekend.

Theres also a huge patch coming for BG3 that you might wanna wait to come out. The upcoming patch marks the end of the development of the game so it might be worth waiting for. Just depends upon how eager you are to play it.

Its nothing short of an incredible game imo.

I want to play, but school comes first right now. I also have to use the wife's pc for the game so it is around her school schedule too.

The game still good?
Honestly I didn't get very far into it and got the Pathfinder itch again. So jumped ship back to WOTR and working on an Oracle playthru

That's not to say i didn't like Deliverance by any means. It's much like the first, but more refined and way better graphics and performance. I just have video game ADHD

I'm finally building a new pc. Ordered the parts last night, now I get to sit and spin while waiting for them to get here.

So, just a heads up in BG3, I probably wouldn't go with my inadvertent method of 'piss everyone off and have to slaughter everything'. I kept wondering why about half of the companions weren't popping up. Doing a little reading, pretty sure I killed a majority of them. Lae’zel, Minthara, Karlach...yeah, believe they're all toast. Which is weird, because I usually try and take the "good" path with stuff. I think I just roll into an area and as soon as something targets me, I figure it's just time to lay waste.

Also, ranger is boring as shit in this game. Usually my go to class. Druid however is pretty damn fun. I would have picked that as my main to start if I'd have known.

So you're going with the: "I accidentally hit the quick shot button in RDR2 and now have to kill everyone in sight" approach?

I do wish that was an option in Dragonage Veilguard (free PNG game this month). The game would be much better if I could just kill off some of the companions instead of having to listen to their nonsense.

Ranger in most DnD based games is a solid and super strong choice. But I agree... it can get a bit boring. Especially a ranged ranger.

Ranger in roll the dice DnD games is bland and only seems to get interesting once you multi-class.

I'm thinking Bard or Fighter when I start playing.
