The problem is they pick to many players from non-playoff teams right when the season ends instead of waiting until the playoffs are over.

Thought he was better against France but still very strong. He pretty much created the third goal himself.
I'll be in the same boat tomorrow, unlikely I'll get to watch but I think I'll be able to see the rest.
NHLers don't seem to be too keen on coming for this tournament so I doubt any would come after the second round.
I used to get upset that so many Canadian players say no to the WHC, but thinking about it now, I understand the psychology behind it which isn't complicated at all. North American players are less willing to play at the WHC because the tournament is not popular at home. When nobody at home cares, players are less willing to shorten their off season and family time for something nobody cares. On the other hand the WHC is important to the Russian fans so it motivates their players to participate. All players want to be part of something that their fans are excited about. If we Canadians were as excited about the WHC as we do the WJHC, I'm sure many more Canadian players would say yes. There's a correlation between player's participation and interest at home.No player in the world has to earn the rite to not play in the WHC. Lets be clear on that. If Hockey Canada used WHC participation when it came to Olympic selection? maybe they would show up.
Is it disappointing for fans, especially Canadian fans. It is easy for us commoners to think if we were NHL players making $5m or more a year we would gladly go right? Would you go play for a free and risk your bread and butter? for the love of the game?
We can criticize Russians for all their worth in the NHL, but guys like Ovechkin, Malkin with thier $8m+ contract show up with bells and whistles on.
WHC just means more to European players, its part of their culture and part of their dreams.
Canadian players dream about the Memorial Cup, Stanley Cup and Olympic Gold and maybe the Canada/World Cup.
I'm skeptical that anyone will be added after this round, particularly after the puzzling additions following the first round. Unless a really impactful player agrees to attend (seems doubtful) then they might as well stick with what they have.
I think something is wrong with Crosby(fatigue) so he'll turn them down. Neal and Letang wouldn't be bad additions though.
Scrivens will start in goal tomorrow vs Denmark.

I think so as well. it's highly unlikely at this point unless there's an injury replacement. I doubt they'll bring in anybody else..
Denmark.. okay Tippet.. some 5v5 time for Rielly would be nice.. you know to see how he might perform before the games actually matter..
Didn't we bring in Subban or someone at last year's or a few years ago for the medal round...I forget who the player/s were but I'm pretty sure for the first time in a long time Canada left some spots open and waited it out. I think the player only got into 2-3 games. I forget who it was..arhh. I could be wrong though.
Anybody think Hamilton and Reilly Smith worth considering as possible invites?
young d and a young speedy forward..
