Man, that's a raw deal. Cancer is a terrible thing and few people don't have a loved one that's gotten the unfortunate diagnosis... but it's different for a kid like that; that's just too cruel. I can imagine myself doing a lot of jobs, pediatric oncology would rip me to shreds every time I stepped into the hospital.
I am really curious to see where Larkin slots in on a serious contender. If he is a 2C behind a superstar he could be a monster at puck possession and reducing scoring chances the other way.
I really, really hope we get to see that in the next 5 years.
12. There is talk of “games” involving the seven non-playing teams sometime in the fall. Details are sketchy, since that isn’t a current priority, but those organizations don’t want their guys waiting until December/January to play.
Sabres fan here. I'm seeing Larkin's name thrown around by some Sabres fans as a trade target. I'm calling BS on it because there's no way Yzerman ever trades him. Please let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks in advance!
He's nowhere near untouchable in my view. But he is their best overall player AND in all likelihood the next captain. I imagine Buffalo can offer a decent range of deals that Yzerman will seriously consider.
Wow, really? didn't expect that answer.
I think any offer that would get Larkin would be too much for you.Sabres fan here. I'm seeing Larkin's name thrown around by some Sabres fans as a trade target. I'm calling BS on it because there's no way Yzerman ever trades him. Please let me know if I'm missing something. Thanks in advance!
I mean, some of those deals would have to include perhaps "untouchables" on Buffalo's end but you get the point. Like if Buffalo was offering something insane like Eichel/Dahlin and wanted Larkin and a 1st/2nd plus a future 3rd, I think at least a discussion happens. Probably not gonna happen but the overall idea is that Larkin is not that safe from any trade ideas. Plus his contract is fairly cap friendly.

I think the best the Sabres offer is 8th overall, Mittelstadt, and Montour/Ristolainen. Which isn't getting Larkin. Eichel, Dahlin, and Cozens are untouchable.
Which is why Larkin wouldn't be going. By the way I doubt they trade him with Cozens as the key make weight. Larkin will be the captain come fall. You offer 8th and Cozens and my guess is Chris Ilitch tells Stevie no even if he wanted to.
The big gun to shake out in Detroit will be Mantha if it happens. I doubt either guy is moved though at least not yet.
Local born and raised face of the franchise is going to be a tough get honestly you don't have the pieces without the two Buffalo won't want to trade.
It being talked about on your board as realistic doesn't make it so. There are 30 teams trying to rip you off and take Jack Eichel on here everyday, it doesn't mean Buffalo will do it at all.
