are we talking about the Beckman we drafted?

... but I'm not sure if we're being 100% serious or pointing out the danger of reading too much into a month and a half's worth of stats.

The latter

Also, holy crap. Ryder Korczak is having an insane year and he’s not even eligible until 2021

Seems like kind of a Hunt clone. At this point we're swimming in smallish, offensive Dmen.

He's more of a lesser Spurgeon to me, in how he plays a smarter game. Hunt is more of a left hand PP specialist with his big shot.

Looking at Iowa's last game I take a bit of sick satisfaction in how hard Tolvanen is flopping. I've never seen a prospect get so over hyped so fast with a highlight reel of plays with time, space, and failed defense that doesn't exist in the NHL.

I know what you mean, but he is still extremely young with an offensive toolkit that’s high-end. He’s got a chance still

Oh for sure, there's no doubt he's skilled enough. Just based on the KHL highlights he needed to start using those skills at an NHL pace and obviously hasn't gotten there yet.

Not sure how much of a role each gm plays in drafting tbh. It might be more the scouts, but by all accounts, we’ve done well in the draft with his staff

Well, they hire or fire scouts and probably shape the future of the roster by targeting certain things (for a while under Riser, Minnesota looked at big, physical players. Fletcher did as well).

Has any of his draft picks made their NHL debut yet? If not lets wait and see how their game translates to the NHL first.

Iowa has taken a bit of a tumble. They are now 2nd, but have one less win than Manitoba (with a game in hand) and same wins as Grand Rapids. 22 points is good for 7th or 9th in the league.
