OT: General OT Thread #44 - Hat Talk 2025

  • Xenforo Cloud will be upgrading us to version 2.3.5 on March 3rd at 12 AM GMT. This version has increased stability and fixes several bugs. We expect downtime for the duration of the update. I can't remember, where are you? This has been the craziest mildest winter in my 40 some years that I can remember in the northern burbs of Minneapolis. I've shoveled once (and only because I was bored, I could have left the one inch lie there), snow blower is still in the back garage, turned on the heating cables once, haven't yet pulled snow off the roof. After last year, this is a welcome break, although the ice fishing season has been absolute shit.

S. WI. I'm 2 and a half beers deep in snow now. It was nothing of note before this front went though.

My snowblower is still in the garage too. The kid used up all the gas in the gascan and didn't replace it or tell anyone.

I am not looking forward to going outside and working to unbury my car tomorrow. Might try bribing my neighbor with a case of beer to see if he'd snow blow me out. Then again, I owe him a case for last winter.

I think after I get my car out, I need to go to the liquor store.

It’s -16 outside. Next time I have some work done on my car I need to remember to have them install a block heater so I can plug the damn thing in.

He was incredibly lucky, and said he did saw the ice after the initial shock. 16 stitches and a later eye test showed good results. He said that was his last game with a regular visor, from now on he's playing with a full visor and a new neck guard
 
God, with a cut like that I almost expected him to say he was blind in one eye now. that is lucky as hell.

He's a warrior, his first thought was to just get stitched up in the locker room and then play again.
I guess the adrenaline rush is weird sometimes. They got him to a hospital in a nearby city and he's going to remove the stitches this friday and is maybe back in action next sunday.
I found a clip online of the incident, it happened after he hit a guy behind the net. His team was up 7-1 and won 8-4

well, I mean hockey is the sport where people die on the bench, get revived, and ask to be put back in the game.
 
So I really like this avatar. It's what I use everywhere else on the net these days as it really reflects my new disposition a lot more than my old ones did.

So any image hosted on a site that starts with https: should work, anything going through http: will still have issues.

Season 5 of Yellowstone is a bit of a mess, might be a good thing it's ending.

I don't know how to add spoiler tags on mobile so I won't. But man, unless they do a complete "gotcha!" swerve during part 2 the story around Jamie is really bad.

Edit. And now I've convinced myself they are doing a gotcha swerve and I feel better about it.

I’ve had to give my cat pills all week and I am both no good at it and she is getting better and better at just spitting them out. I honestly hope I never have to give my cat pills again.

Always found that putting the pills within cheese works for getting cats to take them
