So.... I LOVE conspiracies, let's get that out in the open right now. I also want to say that I don't believe in 99.99% of said conspiracies.... even if I am intrigued by the story. However, what's going on in the skies right now is insaneley fascinating. Project Blue Beam in effect?

I bought a new tv today. 43" TCL 4K UHD, $200 Walmart special. I haven't had time to set it up yet.

Too busy putting new spark plugs in the truck, it picked up a misfire on the drive back from FL. Only got 4 done before it got too dark. I'm gambeling a bit by just doing plugs and not new coils too. OEM ones are $90 each, cheap ones are $60.

I really miss my Dodge, it was so easy to work on. This Ford is just a pain to do anything on.

Same on the conspiracy stuff. I do think the most plausible explanation is that there's all kinds of large-ish, slow-moving stuff floating around at any given time, and someone catching sight of one last week kind of forced the question. Radars get recalibrated and suddenly there are all sorts of "interesting" things to go look at and/or shoot down. Then you're left with the harder question of why NORAD wasn't tracking things that way sooner. I'm sure explaining continent-spanning radar detection strategies is a lot of fun in the Twitter age.

Anyway, wake me when they land and start offering to make us pancakes.

I have a drone (and not a toy one) and if I knew more tech, I think it would remarkably easy to transfer a lot of the mechs of it over to a different platform and cruise around. If it weren’t for some settings on the unit itself and not feeling like getting into hot water with the FAA, I could fly far away from anywhere I could expect to see it as it is now.

I have to imagine there’s much smarter people than I tinkering around with such things in their workshops at home.

Drones aren't hard to modify. It's simply a matter of size, power management, and weight/balance.

I'm rusty on the regulations with drones, it's not something I choose to deal with. I do know a couple people that really into drones and they've moded their own in some crazy ways.

Thu Flight back to MPLS cancelled. Sun Country customer service terrible… most numbers don’t even work, and the ones that do don’t even allow you to wait on hold…just cut you off after a generic message.

I hate to be the 'Old man yells at clouds' guy, but I'm at the stage where I literally just want to run outside, scream and flip off the snow right now. So, tired of this snow garbage. We better get a good spring/summer/fall this year to offset this crap.

You can get that all in the span of a day... Well it's March so the span of a week. We're in only in 3rd winter right now.

God no. Florida is terrible.
For numerous reasons...

I remember going to Baton Rouge (I know, not Florida) in the summer, for a road trip with my friends. The heat and humidity was unbearable. I don't know how people live down there. Well, they said they don't go outside in the summer, which honestly just feels/seems weird to me

Just think of their summer being the same as our winter. Instead of staying in a heated house for 5-6 months, you stay in a AC’ed house. Instead of going ice fishing, you go fishing on the ocean, where they have cooling breezes. Instead of women in ski jackets, you have women in bikinis. Instead of paying big state taxes, you pay …. None.

It’s not too bad.

I'd rather pay taxes to fund schooling and such. And you can always put on more clothes, you can only take off so much.

People can get acclimated to almost any climate, given enough time.

The deal breaker for me is that winter kills off many of the venomous insects, snakes and other really nasty pieces of work. If Australia is any indication, wicked heat just encourages them.

So, weather that is cold enough to kills of life forms is a good thing?

Again, bikinis, and thongs, though I must admit that those can be both good, and bad, depending. 82 yo overweight man in a thong… bad. 28 yo Zumba instructor in a thong….good.

I’ve spent all of my life in places with heavy winter, except for a few years in the PAC NW. It gets…old. I would be fine with 3 months of winter. 5-6…. Enough, already.

Just an FYI, here in Texas we have no state taxes but we have some of the highest property taxes.
