General Drafted Prospects Thread

Generals take game 1 over the Knights 4-2 with an empty netter
Dickinson had a strong game and logged a lot of ice time in all situations.
Andrew Gibson (2023 42 OA Nashville) who many would remember from Team Canada WJC U20 2025, known for his defense, scored 2 PP goals. The 2nd one he looked like a sniper putting it over Elliotts' shoulder from a pretty sharp angle. The Knights spent too much time in the box giving up 3 goals on the PP.

here is Gibson's 2nd goal I mentioned

Next game Saturday.
WHL playoffs continue tonight. Chiefs (Catton...) vs Tigers (McKenna...)
Q playoffs continue Saturday Oceanic vs Wildcats

Dickinson looked great last night. I haven't watched any London games this season prior to last night, but he looked like a dominant player at the OHL level.

One of the biggest questions I had with Dickinson leading up to the draft last year was whether the criticisms of his IQ/processing were legitimate or not. He got tagged with this low IQ label, but should he have? Yes, there were examples of him making the wrong play under pressure, but it wasn't clear whether those plays were evidence of a serious processing deficiency, evidence of a manageable/fixable weakness, or just run of the mill mistakes that all defenceman inevitably make. I mean, if anyone watched Pietrangelo last night against Edmonton, he had some egregious gaffes - they happen to the best.

Last night, I saw an exceptional processor. Calm and controlled.

He had a really good game and he's had many this year. He is still 18 and he has so many tools. London really leans on him in all situations. Very solid two way D. Pretty dominant at the OHL level now.

Sennecke is going to be a machine.

Not many guys that can play the way he does.

Huge borderline hit/knee on O'Rielly that Hunter was irate about. Don't think it was a 5, and if the OHL give any kind of suspension for it after the fact they're insane

Cowan likely to win his 2nd Playoff MVP in a row, unless they decide to go Dickenson, but Cowen's 8 points in the past 2 games is going to give him a heads up (couple empty net points, but points are points)

Junior hockey at its best .. London had the game in the bag at 5-1
Then at just over 6 minutes in the 3rd it was 5-4, then 6-4, then 6-5 and finally 7-5 with an en.

Sennecke finally scored his 1st of the series on a beauty back hand up high on the short side.
SJ prospect Halttunen with a hattrick and Leafs prospect Cowan with 2 g 1a . Cowan became the all time Knights playoff scoring leader.
Oshawa's Griffin (2025 eligible) scored his OHL playoff leading 16th goal.

Knights are up 5-1 after 2 tonight again. I guess we'll see how the 3rd unfolds.
Dickinson became the highest scoring D man in London Knights history in the 2nd. He had 2g and 1 a.
Halttunen continues his hot hand vs Oshawa with 2 more in the 2nd.

after his 1st goal

This was his 2nd goal

Both teams add 1 in the 3rd .. 6-2 London
Halttunen with back to back hat tricks. Dickinson finished with 2g 2a

Where were these guys at the World Juniors? It's great to be on a powerhouse and light teams up, but Canada could have used some of this amazing fire power.

Could say the same for the guys putting up 120 points in the WHL, or point per game in the AHL. Top scorer for Canada had 3 points, and that team had guys from all walks of life in the CHL

Didn’t matter who was playing, or what junior team they played for, that Canada team was broken. McKenna put up 1 point in 5 games, he’s got 165+ points in the WHL season and playoffs in Medicine Hat. They had a guy QBing his AHL teams PP on a sidewall on PP2 half the time.

Dave Cameron happened.

When every single player on the team underperforms and looks noticeably worse than they do at other levels, it's a coaching problem.

It's almost impressive how he somehow managed to kill the offense of guys like McKenna, Catton, Nadeau, Dickinson, etc.. that are absolutely ripping it up this year.

Cameron literally played Bonk as Team Canada's PP QB, when he doesn't even do that over Dickinson in London. Absolute madness.

So many boneheaded decisions, and that's not even touching the insane roster choices that made the team substantially worse.

Let me guess .. Yakemchuk would have saved them?
You are guessing wrong. If I wanted to talk about Yakemchuck, I would be in the Senators prospect thread.

I am saying where were they and the other guys that put up so many points.

I know the answer, I am just bitter after spending all my money on that package and having TC and their superstars lay an egg. Watching theses guys kill it for their junior teams does nothing for me.

Was an extremely frustrating management and coaching group.

Led to some big changes for the HC program, HC and the teams will be so much better off for it moving forward

perhaps we need another thread ... what should we talk about that does something for you?

Let me guess lol

I have no idea what you are talking about. You have an issue with my posts?

If this is about this new thread, I would say it seems to be received well. If it isn't then not sure what's up your ass.

I guess it is about the world junior performance vs the current playoff performances .. my bad

I could have repeated the responses from Hail and Bondra offering you an explanation of the poor world junior results if that is considered well received. I thought you would have already realized that so I went fishing for another reason for your initial post.

The thread itself was a good idea imo but it seems talking about the prospects being discussed wrt to their current performances does nothing for you

I am really interested in seeing him play. He has been touted as the best prospect outside the NHL specifically about defensemen. He was 6th on Mckeen's prospect list behind Dickinson and Levshunov

Chatfield is coming out due to injury undisclosed so far
