Was a pretty sleepy game but things picked up in the 3rd.

-- Bussi was really good once again.
-- Toporowski was the best player IMO. he had a couple great chances on an early PP and then scored on a breakaway later (kudos to Carrick for the nice pass). He's a welcome addition to the lineup...now they just need Lettieri to be 100% and then we'll be talking.
-- Callahan had a really solid game.
-- Lysell was OK...made some nice plays in the o-zone, not too many egregious turnovers.
-- Please get Bowers off of Lysell's line. He is a good skater and solid defensively...but the dude is an offensive black hole. At one point Lysell was dancing around the o-zone and Bowers (for some reason) skates right over on top of him leading to a turnover.
-- Subpar day from Beecher.
-- Merkulov was pretty quiet all game and then hammered a bad turnover into the back of the net.

Can you please explain what this means and wtf it has to do with the cosmic relevance of the figure 8?
essentially, Mariners are the same franchise just as Providence was from 1987-91..... the majority of that roster are all Providence contracts..... a few exceptions but the majority of that roster has split time between the 2 markets.... including DiPietro, it isn't like what Maine was the 1st two seasons under the Rangers affiliation.... remember Wallin is not a Providence contracted coach like Mougenel is why would you see the roster movement between the 2 and the players like Voyer among others and more of Maine influence through the organization

Watching this one later in the AM ,Providence beats Charlotte 3-1
Toporowski (12) from Carrick and Brazeau
Wagner (16) from Bowers
Merkulov (22) unassisted as he doesn't need anyone to get him the puck
Bussi 30 saves and another W
Back at it 1pm today

Bussi's numbers are outstanding, do you think he is NHL ready ? Hopefully the Bruins can hang onto him.

IMO, Bussi needs another year in the A, but he should be the call-up if either Swayman or Ullmark goes down, and he should see some NHL action next year.

If we're trading a goalie, it should be Keyser or DiPietro.
Keyser and DiPietro are not being dealt now.... you just dealt Kincaid at the TDL.... PER his request.....if anything Keyser may be the next one out, whether by contract or FA there was no DiPietro until the trade w/ VAN.....

PRAYERS up for Reilly

Much better game today.
-- Keyser was solid. Good to see both goalies in a groove.
-- Lysell was really good offensively today. Less so defensively as he was directly involved in both goals against...but the good outweighed the bad today.
-- Beecher had a nice game. He generated 3 or so really good offensive chances.
-- Deja vu for Merkulov who was a bit quiet overall but then got a gift turnover and buried it.
-- Tough luck for Reilly...hoping he is able to rebound quickly as it looked like he was out cold on the ice.

Speaking of the D, I'm interested to see who suits up once the playoffs start. Obviously it'll depend on how many D Boston decides to carry but if Providence has everyone available to them:
-- Reilly is a lock assuming he is fully recovered.
-- Carrick has been arguably their best D the last few weeks so he should be a lock.
-- I can't imagine they would scratch their captain in the playoffs so Didier seems like a lock.
-- I think the trade deadline took the wind out of Ahcan's sails a bit but he's still been probably their best D overall this season -- and should be a lock for the playoffs.
-- Stralman has been pretty meh but hard to leave him out of the playoffs.
-- Renouf has also been pretty invisible all year (not necessarily a bad thing for a D) but he is a vet.

That is already 6 D (3 RHD, 3 LHD). You could argue Callahan has earned a spot with his play. Wolff is hurt (not sure how long) but his toughness could be useful in the playoffs. Wismann has been an afterthought lately so he's probably a longshot at this point. What if Lohrei signs?
It's a good problem to have.

An you are likely looking at Lohrei, and maybe Mast or another new signee taking away spots for the defense in postseason
