Does Boston have any better shot at him than the rest of the league with his upcoming UFA status? They never gave him a sniff this year even with the full tank on and him lighting it up in Providence. I have to think he's looking for the best contract and opportunity possible and not sure Boston can offer either.
Boston has a relationship. They have coaching that has it seemed progressed his career. And they will have the first chance to sign him. So they have a better shot than other teams.
I don't think there will be a substantial difference in contracts offered to him whether in Boston or elsewhere . Maybe he gets an extra year somewhere or an extra 100K .
I would suspect that whether it is in Boston or somewhere else he will have to fight for a job in training camp
