Providence Bruins General Discussion thread ‘24-‘25 II

He's an excellent AHL player, I would think all options are on the table
Kind of shameful to realize the players who have played more games for the Boston Bruins than Merk this season.

Tufte - equal
Max Jones - 7 games
Tyler Johnson's corpse - 9 games
Marc McLaughlin - 12 games
Ian Mitchell - 14 games, some without the bald guy coaching
Patrick Brown - 15 games. I'm not even kidding.
Mike Callahan - 16 and a free entry to Bizarro World
Oliver Wahliver - Surely, the next game will turn things around (16 games)
Jordan Osterle - I think Merk might've been better playing 22 games on defense.
Cousin Vinni - On the plus side, the team's draft position has improved greatly during his 24 games
Cole Keopke - I looked on the internet after his 70 games this season and believe Keopke means "caved in" in whatever grunting barbarian language it derives from.

Merk got a raw deal. You'd expect this if a coaching regime changed and opinions on Merk did as well. We've had three different coaches now and seemingly none of them want the Merk.

Wow, Tyler Johnson, that seems alife-time ago.lol
is it the Coaches or Sweeney ? Pretty sure its Sweeney who decides on the Call ups

Merkulov is working hard but I get Koko/Sauve vibes from him, don't think he sticks long term and winds up in a european league

Im gonna try to catch the game on friday against hartford and see at least one against the Phantoms, has the playoff schedule come out yet?

big time hoping Springfield and Providence end up facing each other, 16 minutes from my house.
I have only seen his big league games and he's just so unimpressive. Maybe it's playing wing?

noooooohhhhhhjeeeeeshush

Unless there was something there during the game I’m inclined to believe it was a knee jerk reaction thinking it was a defender closing in on him and his push was normal against an player but not a ref not expecting to get pushed.

If he was trying to do that 10 games isn’t enough

I didn't know where to post this but since it involves 2 AHL teams I'll post it here :eek2:

I don’t think he meant that on purpose. More like a nudge but hockey players at that level are way stronger and sent him flying

Looked like he looked at him looked at the puck then looked back at him and pushed him. Not a good look. He immediately felt bad. I think the games fast and he probably just pushed him instinctively. Doubt he meant to almost kill the official. But still suspension deserved.
