Scott Gomez.

Has been a healthy scratch in Florida for all but 3 of the last 20 games or something. Is probably in the last year of his career. Come on you know this has us written all over it. Apparently we don't have a 7th rounder this year. I'm sure Lou will have no problem shelling out a 6th.

Forgot about gomer. And he is the penultimate Lou move. There's your swansong Lou, go get it. **** him. Watch him do it too.

I don't see anything wrong with Lou trading for veteran players who could help this team win now if it costs minimal assets like a late round selection. The Red Wings aren't going to pick Zetterberg in the 7th or Datsyuk in the 6th like they did 15 years ago.

Except when you have good scouts in Sweden. (We sure don't).

Lundy

Nabbing a good 7th rounder is all luck.

If the Rangers' scouts had thought highly enough of Lundqvist, why did they take Premsyl Duben, Nathan Martz, Brandon Snee and Sven Helfenstein (well, can't blame them for the last one - what a name), none of whom played an NHL game, in earlier rounds?

lol people will never understand this for some reason. Anyway, it's not like our scouts picked guys who were supposed to go much later. It's just the reality of getting late picks will not really help your talent pool.

Anyway...

2008- Henrique
2009- Gelinas (maybe Josefson--could be a good shutdown center)
2010- Merrill
2011- Larsson, Boucher

So it's not like they haven't been getting NHL quality talent---it's just that you don't get high potential forwards that often when you pick later in the draft.

Pete hates him, he's the reason Florida waived him a few years. DeBoer doesn't like the way he plays the game (ie, speed and talent)

This is one of the reasons I believe Tedenby is salvagable. Grabner was cast aside by Pete for playing the same way. And Grabner is a great PKer I may add.

Grabner has since admitted he spent too much time worrying about defence during the preseason, trying to impress head coach Peter Deboer with back checking. The result was a miserable preseason performance. It led Deboer and the Panthers to pull the chute on Grabner, choosing to waive him. Why would the Panthers be so quick to give up on him? Why would a team desperate for sizzle, and goal scoring, give up on a player who has hinted in the past he could bring both?
Good questions.

Sound familiar? Like many of us have said. Keep Pete away from the offenisvely minded players under 25. FAR AWAY. He stunts their development. Pete ended up forcing the panthers to waive a potential 30 goal scorer because he didn't fit in his system.

Still think end up getting someone like Hemsky or Fleischmann since we wouldn't have to pay through the nose to get either of them and they would fill a need. I wouldn't do cartwheels since they wouldn't be THAT much of an improvement over what we already have but it could balance our lines out quite well.

But yea, there's obviously a good chance of a "Lou move" that makes us all want to jump out of windows. Some dumbass D'Agostini reclamation project like Drew Stafford wouldn't shock me. Heatley or Briere would be possibilities in the Steve Sullivan washed up category.

If the cost is low Stafford reuniting with Zajac and playing with Jagr, might just workout.

IDK, JJ and Teddy have been around for like 4 years with 3 different coaches, 100+ NHL games and still not even a spark. I lost faith.

So Lou looking for LW to play on top line, and then boom; four set lines.

I think the trade goes down before the Olympic break. Reason being he wants them to build chemistry, and allow us to climb back into the standings before it's too late; no?

If it isn't before the break, than I think it's too late at that point. So I expect a trade soon, very soon.

What would it take to get Moulson from Buffalo? He's a pending UFA, so it could be appealing for Buffalo to move him. He would be perfect with Zajac and Jagr.

for the life of me i dont understand why we would be buyers. How delusional is Lou to think this team is mediocre winger away from contending. It is ridiculous.

I love this team desperately but god i feel like as fans we need to ban together and reach out to management for answers. obviously would do no good cause we all know their air tight in whatever they do.

i just dont get it. its not like we even have the capability to get hot down the stretch either. even with parise and kovy we couldn't take LA - and now all of sudden were supposed to be able to compete on that level by adding what?? old ass briere?

then your selling assests which we have essentially none -

God i dont get it, and its eating me alive - I cant take the bullsh*t hackneyed ramshackle team building with no foresight. Meanwhile the ****ing rags are building and we are sitting here like amateurs pretending that somehow boucher, merril, gelly and larsson are gonna take us to the promise land???
Even if we keep cory, we are still several elite players away from even coming close to being in the discussion!

ahhh so damn frustrating. its just too depressing knowing how far away we are from being that perennial contender again.
