OT: General College Hockey Talk

We all had Penn State being the only B1g team to win a game right?🙄. This tournament is nuts.
I know it was basically a road game for Maine, and Penn State has been one of the hottest teams for the last few months...but I did not see them taking Maine to the woodshed.

All four regional finals should be damn good games.

Cornell has had a couple of dubious penalties called on them - that rinkydink major for facemasking in particular. But Cornell ties it late.

This was from last night - how can you lose with the stripes on your side?

I don't know about other conferences, but in Atlantic Hockey it felt like every time they went into the booth to review (either by choice or by coach's challenge) they were looking for any excuse to give 5 and a game and not really understanding that things can be distorted by angle/slow motion/etc. Too many majors in NCAA for sure.

On another note entirely, 130-some players already in the transfer portal. The AIC guys are obvious and understandable (although I suspect a lot of them will end up in D-3) but it seems like every guy who doesn't get the playing time he wants enters the portal. Development isn't a thing anymore. Niagara's losing a trio of 30 point guys from last year (and Canisius one), but other than that no big name guys yet from the AHA

The other thing that drives me nuts about the replay system is they don't allow minor penalties to be called under any circumstances.

I wouldn't have loved a major penalty in OT for that Penn State near-slewfoot (though I bet they do call 5 if that happened in the 2nd period)...but it was 100% a penalty that needs to be called even in OT.

Denver all over BC in Manchester after getting out of the first 1-0 despite being outplayed. 3-0 halfway through the 2nd now as they've found their game.

EDIT: BC challenging the 3rd goal for offside and it's going to come back. Still only 2-0. Let's see if they can swing some momentum back with the disallowed goal.

I really have no idea what to expect out of BU/PSU. Penn State has been so hot since January, but that could be a wide open game which would suit us quite well.

After getting 6 teams into the tourney, if BU is the only Hockey East team to make the Frozen Four I would be soooo happy!

They are building a really strong program and culture at Michigan State.
You have to give Nightingale credit for what he's done in three seasons: dumpster fire to contender. The USNTDP connection helps. He got Isaac Howard to bail from Duluth and Augustine to decommit from Michigan to MSU.

If the Cayden Lindstrom transfer actually happens, MSU will be fighting off transfers with a stick.
