Oh, and MN-PSU broadcast had a sound bite on summer invite UDFA D Erik Autio, something like Gadowsky loves how good he's at zone exits for them .. been a bit banged up this year though.

Yeah, I heard that too and my head shot around like someone had said "Free tacos and beer!" Was that a "one man breakout" comment I heard or are they just teasing us...

What are the chances that Minnesota misses out on the tournament if they get swept this weekend by PSU?

Going into this series, they are in based on their RPI rating, but that will shift down based on losing the series if/when that happens. It might put them on the cusp of not being an at-large selection, but at this point, I would expect them to get in even if it's as a 4-seed and then have to face one of the powers who have knocked them about (the Irish, the Buckeyes, Denver, St. Cloud, Cornell...) as the #1 seed in that region.

I don't see them sniffing a national championship. To borrow a line from Mel Brooks... it'll take a miracle

Yeah, certainly a compliment.

After a PSU sweep, Gophers will be 13th or 14th depending on other results this weekend, so UNO and PSU would pass them with wins tomorrow, while NMU and BGSU would be nipping at their heels with wins. Union, UND and BC each will have conference tourney opps to maybe improve their standing too. Atlantic tourney winner gets 16th seed and any other conference underdog winner starts eating into that top-15 one by one .. see NCAA Tournament Pairwise Comparison Ratings > Customize > Modify Game Results .. I think they're done with a loss tomorrow based on form of other teams, but it just might take another week of games to reflect that.

I totally forgot how much I enjoyed Autio at prospects camp until this comment. Hope they take a look at him again. He is the type of d man they need in the system.

Sturtz and Autio would be nice adds at the AHL level at least.

Watching both Wisconsin-Michigan and Minnesota-Penn State and this is too much fun.

Evan Barratt has brass that can be seen from space. Hawks have another solid forward prospect there.
