At this point he is.

There's a reason Undertaker never had long reigns. Having a chance to beat the Undertaker was a bigger spot than competing for the title.

If Roman loses tonight, for example, and than fights Solo for the title of "Tribal Chief" at Summerslam, that 100% main events over whoever Cody is fighting.
You said it yourself - Taker's Wrestlemania matches were a bigger deal than title matches in the last several years of the streak being intact. Once he lost the streak, his Wrestlemania matches meant very little.

Same with Reigns. His title matches feel very special because it's going to be a big moment when he finally loses the title. After that, not so much. I'm not saying he won't still be a big draw. I'm saying he won't be as big a draw.

A major part of Reigns' appeal is that he is the unbeatable champion.

The worst decision of the night wasn’t Cody losing to Roman, it was Finn losing to Edge.
100% disagree.

Finn Balor has not be relevant since his NXT days, one could argue he hasn' t been relevant since his Bullet Club days. He's pretty much a non-entity in the WWE, a rich man's version of a enhancement talent. ATP, Finn might be better known to WWE fans as the guy who trained Becky Lynch than anything he's done in the company. The booking for Wrestlemania is par for the course for Finn Balor.

WWE, I mean HHH, saw and read the room and froze when it came to booking the Reigns/Rhodes match. The fans were behind Cody and were ready for the change, and HHH channelled his innver Vince and ignore WWE fans wishes and is now going to forced Reigns down everybodies' throat. This decision is on par with the fans wanting Daniel Bryan for the RR and got Rey Mysterio. It's a BAD DECISION by WWE.

Roman winning was WWE telling it's fans to f**k off. Worst decision of the night by far. Day 2, erases all the good will of Day 1 and this years's Wrestlemania, in the end, became a mediocre show. That's on HHH.

And if/when that happens, all I will do is say cool and what's next year. It won't be a big deal for me.

My thoughts on Cody/Roman

This was the right decision tonight putting Roman over. Cody comes back at the rumble, wins it drawing 30, has a handful of matches and is expected to just end an almost 3 year run for Reigns. That’s way too rushed and needs some adversity for Rhodes before he wins the title. Long term booking is always the best route and the Sami Zayn storyline is the proof of how well it works taking time in the story. Cody will still win the title but it will mean so much more when he finally gets it after getting screwed over by the bloodline along the way. Cody hasn’t faced one ounce of adversity along the way since rumble. This is 100% the right call going forward

Who has Cody beat since returning in this feud? Solo?

The guy needs to chase. He hasn’t had the chase yet.

He came back night 1 after however long his layoff was, came in at #30 and tossed a guy who was in the rumble for over an hour out. Great.

Like I said numerous times over the past month. He’s the guy to beat Roman, absolutely. His time isn’t now.

I’m glad they did what they did.
They didn’t even have him get beaten up in the build. Not that they have to, but we’ve seen enough WWE to know how they think they have to do things.

Great. Not my point.
But it's also not really the same situation. That Bret reign before Wrestlemania 12 was pretty low key and he was just holding to hand it over to Michaels. Bret dropping the title wasn't nearly as big of a deal as Reigns dropping it. I'm not saying that means Reigns keeping it was a good idea, I'm just saying the comparison with Hart-Michaels is off.

People on about the fans being behind Cody as if that were the case at all 6 weeks ago.

They’ve written stories that have had multiple people be the person ‘the fans are behind,’ clearly this is something Hunter knows how to do, unlike with Vince and Bruce before. When it happens, the person to win it will be the one fans are behind.

Decision for Roman to go over was reportedly made weeks ago.

HHH might have the easiest life as lead booker of any promotion ever. If something is good he gets unending praise and love. If it sucks? It was Vince lol
It reminds of the Rangers, when something good happens it’s because of the GM and when something bad happens it’s because of Sather behind the scenes lol

Uh... Brooklyn!
there was a few narstie bumps this weekend that made me wince

- mcafee near had miz step right off a catch to land flat on his back
- could hear shane's acl spring off his body from a mile away
- charlotte using her face as a landing pad a couple times
- the finn gash tho was pretty gruesome, I thought we were gonna get the X

Charlotte was about an inch away from potential broken neck. She got very lucky

Shane McMahon is gonna get saddled with the worst Wrestlemania return of all time, I hope he’s able to laugh about that in the future

Hell baby
I just can’t get over how funny it was that the second Cole said Shane still has it he blows out his quad lmao

Maybe they can bring Jacob Fatu in and have him feud with the bloodline as the black sheep of the family that the Bloodline has neglected

Honestly it turned out to be a better segment than if his knee didn’t self destruct. I’m sure Shanes still pissed about it today, but Snoop very casually doing the peoples elbow was great.
