I don't think it'll happen, but it certainly is a possibility. They have yet to be outplayed by any of the four teams they have faced. A few fortuitous bounces or questionable calls in the US' favor and they could beat a team like Finland in the first round (if Finland were to beat Canada). There is so much luck involved in hockey that it's not out of the question, especially when the team has shown that they can play with the better teams of the tournament. The Finns didn't exactly look like World beaters against the Czech's. They looked really good, but this isn't a dominant team like Canada from the last Olympics or the Soviets from years past.

USA sucks. they just have no chance in hell at a medal. i have seen 2 games now and they just dont have what it takes.

The US stayed right there with both Slovakia and Sweden.. I think they lack goalscorers, but they play a solid game, no doubt. Canada is Canada, but they curiously seem to lack some imagination in their game, and I don't know that they can pound their way to the gold through three skilled teams. Czechs look like they've lost some confidence with Vokoun looking unsure, and god forbid Jagr is at less than 100%. It all looks to me even more equal accross the board than before this tournament started.

Has Lidström ever looked this good when playing for Sweden?
With him together with Öhlund, Hävelid and K.Jönsson who seems to be getting accustomed to the fast pace our D doesnt look as awful anymore.
I'm expecting some lines to be juggled against Slovakia.
