I think the US will play very well in this game. We had two lines clicking last game. Giont-Gomez-Tkakchuk and Drury-Weight-Guerin. If Modano can start to get going we should be in good shape. I have a feeling Grahame gets another shot in goal.

good game coming up

Heartly greetings from SLovakia to all hockey fan around here  . Looks like another gooooood game is coming up :hyper: . You guys in US cant imagine how big thing is this Olympic tournament here in Slovakia  . When our guys play, the life in whole country just slows down and everybody is just watching TV.
I hope today it will be good fair game. Dont you know who is going to be ref? I just hope it wont be somebody from Canada because these guys just dont like us.
And a small wish in the end, please guys dont hurt :toothless any of our players so all of them can enjoy tommorow big win fully. ;) :win:

If we can score at a good pace against Budaj, which we should be able to, the US can win this game. But whoever is in goal for the US has to be on top of his game.

A tie with Latvia, and an unconvincing 4-1 win over the worst team in the tournament has me leaning towards a fairly easy win for Slovakia, but I think it will be close.

I think the US will give the Slovaks a hard fight till the end. 3-2 USA. Strong performance in net for whoever starts!

US with a big win 4-0. DiPietro gets the shut out.

Goals: Gionta 2 Tkachuk Schenieder
i'd be very sad if slovakia doesn't score tomorrow ...but enything can happen

I see John Grahame starting for the US against Slovakia, but I think that he and DiPietro are pretty much at the same level right now anyway (though I do like DiPietro's potential to steal a game singlehandedly.)

If the US can get out to an early lead and control the puck well then they can neutralize Slovakia's speed. The American team is composed of some very hard working sparkplug type players like Gionta and Blake who can keep the pace of play up, but ultimately if the Slovaks take an early lead I don't see the US being able to fight back.

Go America! :handclap:

Is it official yet that DiPietro is starting or do we not know yet?

I don't think anything is official yet. I imagine Grahame and DiPietro will get starts this weekend. Whoever plays better this weekend should be the starter in the quarter finals if the US gets that far(they should, but anything can happen).

Prediction: Team USA wins 3-1 AND dominates most of the game, too. I think (and hope) they'll be firing on all cylinders today. Budaj is going to make a lot of saves, though.

This is on MSNBC, right?

I read the first part of your response and was going to say the exact same thing.

On this team, that M. doesn't really narrow it down much as to which Hossa he is.

Why do they put the M.??? They would need to go to the fourth letter of their names for it be different! Could you imagine MARI. HOSSA and MARC. HOSSA on their jerseys?!

Can't wait for game.. 4-3 USA.. come back from 3-2 just to go ahead 4-3 with little time in the 3rd remaining to send Doc and JD wilddd.. Great duo to listen to
