Spasiba! :D I drive my family crazy. My sister and my parents can't stand two games in a row, heh.

And my money's on Russia for this game. (My whole $1.25 CDN). Even if Frolov's out. Which somewhat worries me.

My birthday's the quarterfinals. I'm hoping I'm good luck!
Frolov really hasn't played that much and made much of an impact, so I don't expect his loss to be that huge.

Nice inclusion of Anton in the avatar too.

If that happens, Team USA is toast. Nabokov has been very good for Russia though. I don't know if the Latvians can put enough pucks past him.
Perhaps, but if that happens USA is also in the drivers seat for second in the group. Russia may go after the US with everything they've got, but the US will fight back with the same resolve. Unlike Latvia and Kazakhstan though, the US has actual talent. Russia better not take this game lightly. In a sense, this makes or breaks their tournament.

He will be missed down the road, as the games get tougher :teach:

I think, I'll loose my job because of this crazy tournament.

R U from Toronto, though?
Maybe we know each other :yo:

P.S: Russia should get to the finals.

Too bad I can't quit mine. I'm a volunteer police officer, heh. And my VCR doesn't work and I don't have TIVO. So, I rely on you people for what I'm missing so far.

Me? Nope, Ottawa.

I said that before the Olympics began. Russia and Canada in the finals. *knocks on wood*

Trust me after we loss to Latvians in 2000, we would not take them lightly.

It's vendetta this time around.

Look for Mr. Ovechkin scoring a pair.

Maybe, but it seemed like the coach wasn't using him to his full abilities, so even if he was healthy, his impact would have been small.

Damn Krikunov, he would rather use Kharitonov than Frolov. :madfire: :madfire: :madfire:

Frolov on a 4th line = stupidity

That's the reason why I want Russia to win on Sunday...they might take it easy with Team USA on Tuesday since they'll have their ticket punched for the quarterfinals. All Team USA needs is a tie from either of the final two games and they'll be safe. As far as the goal differential...the Latvians would have to blast Kazakhstan to beat Team USA in that category. Even if they win either of the final two games, the Americans have a healthy advantage there. If the Latvians can steal a point from Russia, that means Team USA has to get at least a tie either of the final two games to advance. I hope they can get out of finishing fourth because they'll draw either Finland or Canada in the quarters...that'll be a quick exit for them.

what makes you think Canada is finishing 2nd? Canada needs help from Italy and Germany for that to happen, and has to take care of the Czech's and Fins. Switzerland is in the drivers seat for 2nd.

I'm saying Canada can still win the group. If they win their final two games, they're probably sitting pretty. The Fins have a strong goal differential so they probably clinch the group with a tie with the Canadians. As for the Swiss, second if very possible considering they have the two patsies of the group coming up. Honestly, any of the teams from that group will be a tough draw in the quarterfinals...no matter where Team USA finishes. It would be a trip if somehow Germany or Italy can get lucky and leapfrog over the Czechs and take 4th place.
