Beautiful game by Russia! I enjoyed it very much. Nabokov was good, had some nice saves. PP could have been better but I'm not going to complain if we score 9 goals. :D

Anyway, I expected a much tougher game! Latvia dissapointed me. Or was that maybe Russia playing so incredibly great??? :snide:

Datsyuk and Malkin lines are soooo dominant!!! I love them! Sushinsky is the man!

And congrats to Kovalchuk! :handclap: Almost tied Bure's record... Didn't expect such a strong game from him.

Bring on those americans!
 
I am not bashing him for it. I personally think, that he played pretty well. Specially, when diving he prevented a sure breakaway. I just do not want the Pens-fans disrespect for him to carry over into our team.

That's the reason why I want Russia to win on Sunday...they might take it easy with Team USA on Tuesday since they'll have their ticket punched for the quarterfinals. All Team USA needs is a tie from either of the final two games and they'll be safe. As far as the goal differential...the Latvians would have to blast Kazakhstan to beat Team USA in that category. Even if they win either of the final two games, the Americans have a healthy advantage there. If the Latvians can steal a point from Russia, that means Team USA has to get at least a tie either of the final two games to advance. I hope they can get out of finishing fourth because they'll draw either Finland or Canada in the quarters...that'll be a quick exit for them.

Not at all afraid that either Sweden or Russia will blowout the USA 10-0 or something along those lines?

Is it just me but did Sokolov play the entire 3rd period with the CBC/TSN guys continuing to call him Nabokov? :shakehead :dunno:


They even showed Nabokov sitting on the bench and showed the name "Sokolov" below him. Sheesh: different number, different name on the jersey, different mask, different pads... you'd think the paid proffessionals and former goalies that the announcers are would notice.
