I'm kinda hoping it's ABB's last game in the AHL. He's too good for the AHL and the Habs could definitely use his offensive instinct on the top 2 lines + PP2 at the moment. I'm not saying he's the long time solution, but until Laine/Demidov come in, he cannot be worse than Armia-Heineman-Anderson and whoever is currently assigned in a scoring role.

They gave him opportunity at the beginning of the season and he was a non-factor. His skating isn't good enough for the NHL. He's a tweener: too good for AHL, but not good enough for NHL. That means he should be Europe bound. Montreal is paying him $750k regardless of where he plays this year. They want his offense in Laval, and it looks like a good signing.

Condotta and ABB are an integral part of Laval's future success perhaps when we get some healthy bodies back but his line wasn't great.
Sure they scored a couple but they also gave up a couple. Three of our four lines got outplayed handily last night and his was one of them.
I'm curious to see how Vincent sets up his lines tonight because he knows we stole one.

Agreed. I’m getting tired of arguing the reasons why calling up players from Laval thinking they’ll make a difference is wrong. There’s plenty of guys that are “too good for the ahl”.

Agreed. I’m getting tired of arguing the reasons why calling up players from Laval thinking they’ll make a difference is wrong. There’s plenty of guys that are “too good for the ahl”.

Vincent and his staff adjusted and found a way to win. The shots were 17-6 early on and after the first Laval was much more engaged.

He got exactly 2 games. Not really what I call an opportunity, especially after a very good preseason. Kapanen and Heineman got an opportunity, not ABB.

No he didn't crack Tampa's line-up, but this is a contender. Habs are a rebuilding team that is playing Heineman, Armia, Anderson, Dvorak, Kapanen, Pezzetta and Condotta at forward. This is a much easier roster to crack. ABB deserves a chance. I'm really convinced he's not worse than these players.

ABB is not part of Laval's future success. He's on a 1 year contract and is UFA next season. This kind of player (borderline NHLers) never stick to their AHL team. If he doesn't get a real opportunity in the NHL, he'll sign with a team that might give him an opportunity next year.

He isn't an NHL player. There is nothing wrong with that...he is still making loads of money playing a game he loves.

We can send a message by dressing Pezz.
The issues most recently have been higher up the roster which is why I asked about role.
I doubt very much we would play him top 6.

I disagree. The gap is too much for him to be an efficient offensive forward at the NHL level and the rest doesn't compensate.
