I told a lot of you to not get your hopes up with Pacioretty. Almost one-third of his goals came on breakaways, things that get eliminated if the goalie is playing well or the opposing team doesn't have awful defense.

Many of the remaining goals came as the result of "perfect feeds", such as finishing a one-timer or a great pass on the door step. Those type of plays don't come often in the playoffs without guys who can dig the puck out and are dynamic scoring threats like Getzlaf, Perry, Crosby, Gaborik, Parise, etc. And four of those 39 goals were empty netters. None of these goals required much "dirty work" from Pacioretty to obtain. But DIGGING for the puck is the most important, because even fourth liners can score after a shift in which they possess the puck in the O-zone.

Gionta's been awful the last few games. Him regressing to his dump-and-change and kill-all-the-plays mentality really eliminates our depth.

Lots of worse forwards for us than Gio.

No-one looks good tonight. But having the obviously injured and diminished Prust (whom I love) is a horrible coaching decision of the first water.

He's been forechecking effectively and creating enough confusion for Eller and Bourque to profit from it and get some O zone time and shots. He's been adequate.

They've been pro Boston since I can remember.

Sad fall since the Danny Gallivan/Dick Irvin days and those guys weren't even big Habs homers necessarily. Once Don's influence took over then Irvin retired, all Habs influence was rooted out of Hockey Night in Toronto and they think hiring notable Hab basher PJ Stock cause he's bilingual and from Montreal is acknowledging us? Ridiculous. Thank God for Strombo lol.

Every ****ing time Murray is on the ice there is zero chance to score

And tonight, the same for Subban.

Again I will ask.

Subban is supposed to score for the Habs. He isn't.

Why doesn't he get blame? It it a fanboy status that he is beyond criticism so that a player who no one expects to score gets the whipping boy treatment?

What about all of our top scorers in the playoff? They get a pass and Prust gets blamed.

But yeah, I do get some enjoyment from reading unhinged delusional and irrational posts like yours. Great comedy.

Maybe its just me. But I always find i ride my motorcycle better after 1 drink. People need to chill. Players are too tight. Patches is thinking too much.

I write best with I have ~2-3 beers or glasses of Malbec in my tummy. I also find the best women when I have ~5+ beers or Whiskies in my tummy.

You're right that the players gotta loosen up. I think the third will show them go out with nothing to lose. But Boston is gonna not give 'em an inch. They came into the series geared for a 7-game war of attrition. They've crushed and targeted Patches and Subban from the get go.

We need Gionta, Bourque, Eller, Desharnais, VANEK and Emelin to overachieve in order to get anywhere.

When he's been accustomed to seeking out his centre without making plays himself. When said centre vanishes into thin air.
So you're saying Desharnais is the reason Pacioretty scored goals?? loollll

I'm a like Desharnais a lot, but Pacioretty is a very good player when he's confident. He's clearly not confident right now and floating.

You would have hope that the Habs would look at Beaulieu way more and give him some PP experience just in case we don't sign Markov. And frankly, signing Markov right now isn't looking so good.....He's so invisible in the playoffs.

I don't agree with the argument that we don't have the team to compete against Boston.

We could be up 3-1 in this series, but due to some major flukes and 1-2 terrible plays, we're in the situation we're in right now.

Therrien totally screwed us with the roster tonight, but we'll have to find a way to get it done without Briere.

2 goal lead worst in hockey? Ok, make that true for the bruins too. Pacioretty and Vanek. You have a period to become gods. Do it.

Puck luck. Gonna need it.

If Tinordi is a worse player than Murray is tonight, I think we should just close down Hamilton. Why bother?

are you for real? Subban is like 4th in the whole freaking league in points and easily first for dmen, he's not gonna score every game.
