Lindgren's got his groove back :pickle:

and Pro... finally has a shot now too to add to his pretty big toolbox?!
2 straight good games doesn't make Lindgren groovy just yet! He has to keep up his better play of late. Thompson/Lindgren are now closer to being a 1A/1B. I would still like Carbs to do Thompson 2 to Lindgren every 1, ratio.

Big win tonight for many reasons, one of them being they got absolutely zero help on the out of town scoreboard. Flyers, Islanders, Devils, and Penguins all won.
Flyers/Isles I'm not too concerned about as we are 3-0 against those 2 teams. Devils we are 1 point up on and we still have 4 games in hand on them. Pens have been playing better of late, but their goaltending/defense is still the worst in the league, plus we have 3 games in hand on them. Canes are behind us because they have goaltender health issues. Right now it's the Caps Metro to lose, and we are doing it without our best goal scorer.

Pro showing a great release on both goals. First goal, pass from Dibie gets off his stick immediately. OT winner, he waits a beat for Strome’s flash screen and then rips it. He didn’t have that kind of shooting touch last year - some really impressive and important development steps in his game.

I was never a Pro hater but I wasnt a believer either. I thought hed make an NHL paycheck for 6-10 years as a 3rd liner spot duty top 6 guy but I didnt think he'd end up being a solid top 6 like a lot of yall projected .. but hes a legit top 6

Big Pro!
This is me too.

When they signed him to the extension I cocked an eyebrow and mentally said "really? Isn't it kind of too soon for this kind of deal, and what makes them think he'll be enough of an asset to lock him in at that salary for 6 years?"

I guess it's a good thing they have professionals making those decisions.

Yeah me too. I thought he was ok but he has taken an enormous step forward.

5 x $3.4M is highway robbery for a nearly PPG player who isn't getting PP minutes.

If only we had signed CMM to a 5x3.4m we could have an entire first line locked up for like 15m long term.

Things are looking very good for sure. So good that I'm paranoid that something terrible will happen because this isn't normal, for us at least.

Personally I hate live threads. It causes posts to appear out of order for me.

Me too, drives me f***ing nuts, I’m never watching a game from opening whistle, always on delay.

Is there NO way live threads can be un-lived through my user profile settings or whatnot??

I didn’t see last game — what happened?
Net scramble and he was in an open space slamming his stick on the ice (right move ... he got fed the puck and got a good shot off)

Went 1v4 .. and almost drew a call

A growing feeling watching him play .. as a former puck hog.

probably a positive sign of his growing confidence and Id guess Carbs is telling him to nurture and grow that, shoot more not less etc

As maybe the leader of the “Protas will be great!!!” Fanboy club, I can just say this:

I have been watching hockey a long long long time. Seeing Protas last year, I could truly “see” what he was trying to do with so many of his plays.

His vision and his hands and his passing were terrific — but he wasn’t 100% there. But you could SEE it.

He reminded me so much of a young Peter Bondra, in that with PB, you could see the skill, the shot, the speed — but it was just off a little bit. Just not quite there.

And then it was. And now same for Protas. You can simply tell that once the game slows down a little bit (experience), great things were going to happen.

And here we are. I love it.

My drunken proclamation of 80pt seasons was probably a bit much. BUT, maybe not by a lot? Unless injured, 60pts should be in the bag. Perhaps even 70.

I thought he was big kinda-stiff "power forward" type .. that didnt play a power game and handled the puck like a bouncing grenade at times.

His positioning and IQ (and that f***ing shot .. good lord) is really impressive to watch with and without the puck

It almost like this organization knows what it is doing.
