Laval Rocket: GDT- Game THREE Rochester at Laval 7PM EST

I felt at ease with Dobes. Something about his aura.

Primeau always seems off by a second kr down too low or rattled or ..
I think Dobes has better mental toughness which is important for a goalie. Tim Thomas had it. Dobes technique still kills me to watch. And those rebounds. He battles though and he's athletic. I just wonder if it's sustainable against the skill level of today's shooters.

Big ice / small ice adaptation here. He's going to figure it out i'm sure. He needs physical maturity and to learn how to use it but the IQ and skills are there as well as work ethic... no rush, nice prospect.
The good thing it’s he’s in the play. But he’s consistently a split second off offensively. It could very well be differences between Europe and the AHL and he’s tweaking his play. I need more of a sample to figure him out.

Looked pretty good as a what, 23 years old rookie?

He looks like a wall when hes on. Wete just so used to Mr. Perfect, but that player doesnt exist anymore. Most good goalies are rag-tag pirate types like Dobes and Monty.

I'm freaking sold on Xhekaj. He is easily my 4th best prospect right now behind, Hage, Reinbacher and Fowler. (Reinbacher #1, Hage #2 and Fowler #3).

This guy will have huge impact at NHL level, his intensity and offensive ability impressive me a lot. He will be able to play everywhere.

Watch his pivots, its scary how weak his knee is.

Yeah, he's probably wearing a brace which affects his mobility. He can barely make the turn around the net and can't do a backwards pivot at all. The few times he's tried it he almost loses his balance and loses the puck.

He'll need to work on lower body strengthening exercises this summer. It's weak from surgery and being off for 6 months.

Of course. Sad because hes a player that I feel gets a lot from his 360 degree movement.

I hope it gets better or he may have to reinvent himself a tad.

Xhekaj is going to be an impactful player for us very soon, just need to put on more muscles and get stronger.
He turned 20 before training camp and he is Laval's youngest player.
He played 2 seasons in the OHL and jumped right into the AHL and scored 24 goals. He does need more weight which will come as he matures.
