Fowler isn't the only prospect on the team. They are also developing guys like Reinbacher, Mailloux, Engstrom, Xhekaj, Kapanen, Beck, Roy etc.

Primeau has been fantastic so he deserves to play and allow them to move on in the playoffs to help the young guys gain even more experience.

Primeau is the reason they finished the season so strong.......I get the Fowler development thing, but the team wants to win, and you can be assured Primo has the guys in the room behind him, not the new college kid....

I am finding it a bit comical that everyone who was OK with Primeau getting forced into starts when loaned back by the Habs, are suddenly mad at the way Vincent is handling the goaltending situation.

He's made the wrong decision in almost every start since Primeau was sent down. I think we can finally agree that he isn't managing the situation the best and that he was not logically thinking when initially forcing Primeau back into the net.

I'm excited to see how Fowler bounces back but I would be starting Primeau tonight. That said I would have never started him in game 3 against Cleveland or game 1 against Rochester. He took Fowler out of a groove and might be doing the same with Primeau here now.

That is garbage. Teams have to try to win to attract decent AHL lifers to help prospects develop. They have all season to develop players. Playoffs are more for the vets.

He’s not completely wrong, though. Fowler is the most important prospect in the organization if for no other reason than the position he plays, and Reinbacher probably the second most important prospect.

Because if Hughes was forcing Vincent to follow his direction, there's no way Primeau gets the net fresh off a Fowler shutout or a series winning game.
