Prospect Info: Filip Mesar

Given that the Rocket lacked offensive power in the first two games it makes sense to take Mesar off the bench for game 3.

I don't see any situation barring massive injuries that he plays. 0 GP so far. Getting dropped in against Charlotte with how Laval is playing and how the Checkers are dominating physically would be unfair

I partly agree, not playing once and throwing him into the fray in a physical serie so far is asking for trouble, but at the same time, if he wants to shine, he has to show something at some point. Everything's about expectations, I don't expect a savior, but someone who will create offense, something we've been lacking, and all that through tough conditions. That would be a pretty good test, of course, if someone's injured or need a rest, or if Vincent wants to try something.

I don't get this. How about we see? How about with nothing to lose frankly to see how he responds to that? What does it say about the kid if we think that he really can't help scoring goals for a team who needs goals? We thought that it was important for Fowler to see games...why is it not important to see Mesar?

It's actually a win-win for him. He looks bad, well we knew it would happen. The whole team looks bad anyway. And we can put that on lack of games played. He looks better...it's encouraging.

But not putting him 'cause it's physical....yeesh...we should have thought about that when we picked him....

At this point of Laval's season they are thinking about winning not development.

Exactly and in order to win they'll need more offensive creativity. The Rocket have been limited to the perimeter of the offensive zone but Mesar may be able to create space with his vision and skating speed.

I'm guessing the coaching staff has seen nothing in his game that would give an indication that that is an outcome that is possible.

Not putting him in the lineup vs physical opposition, or drafting a player who shies from physical contact ?

He's a smaller skilled european player, you drafted him to be an offensive threat. Strengh was an afterthought.

This was a good year to see what he's capable of but we never tested him so right now we don't know. Has he already been traded?

Don't get it

You're dropping a guy in a conference final, down 0-2 where the benches have been cleared in each game. He should have gotten some action earlier in the playoffs.

I don't see Vincent using him now. He'd never scratch or sit one of his horrible vets anyway.

You can play him, I would have played him myself last game and scratched RHP and Gignac, but expecting much or drawing any conclusions from that one game would be extremely misguided.

Well I do hope that any sane person wouldn't draw anything based on those games. Frankly, I have given up on him. But that's just me. And there's nothing negative or positive he'll do that will make me change my mind. But we've been advocating for development so much...no idea how that couldn't be part of something for next year if we keep him, and frankly, we have to, 'cause the kid has no value right now. If he can't be a NHL prospect, might as well make him a good AHL player till he goes back home. And playing in intense and physical atmosphere has to be a great development tool.

Geez, play him with Florian and Jared if you have to. And PP1.

You can just keep him as a PP specialist but yeah i dont see the point to try him now, risk an injury.

At least hes practicing with the best so this is a good sign for next year

Okay so let me get this straight...round 2, winning 2-1 in the series with 1 game to win, we are thinking development with our goalie. But round 3, losing 2-0, destroyed at home, we have now shifted towards winning? loll
