Well then blame Dean, don't blame the lockout or the cap.
And to answer your question 7824, there are always veterans capable of filling in bottom line roles that are available for less than what Stoll got that summer.
Or like I said, give him a chance to earn a better payday and offer him 1 year. They had cap space in 2013 to afford his salary, they don't right now and it's going to hurt the teams chances to add at the deadline.
Offering Stoll a one year deal after the way he played most of his career as a King and especially that season would not have been a slap in the face or an insult, Stoll is a pro, he knows the way things work. Hell if the Kings hadn't won that season he may not have gotten any offer after the way he played in 2012.
Why not offer him the same contract Penner was offered?
They were both coming off multiple horrendous seasons with the Kings, but in an attempt to keep the team together they offered Penner 1 year at $3 mill with a chance to prove himself and earn a long term deal. He went back to sucking the next season and the Kings moved on.
Why wasn't the same type of deal offered to Stoll?
Picking-up on how bad Brown has been: In 26 road games this season, Brown has one point, ONE ****ING POINT!!!!
They look tired. A step slow, out of sync, can't score.
Yeah, I don't want to downplay the fatigue because they sucked BEFORE the road trip, but this one certainly isn't going to help.
7 games in 11 nights starting from the DET game, 8 in 13 when we're done in PHX on the 28th--only one 'home' game that is the Dodger Stadium game, and a road trip from STL thru DET, BOS, CBJ before coming back to the Pacific. All good teams, and brutal travel, times, and, so far, bounces.
Good teams take care of business for sure--but these guys are human too.
As a side note Doughty gets a semi-pass because skating with stitches is a *****. Props to him for going and trying to take the game over anyway.
That is a myth as well, this core has proved over 32 game strerch (March+Cup run)they can play up tempo and carry the puck into zones with speed.
Its up to players to maintain that play.

Because there was no other FA center who could do what Stoll does as effectively. Just look who was available at the time. The guy kills penalties and wins faces off which carries more value than just putting up points. Penner you could easily say is a one demensional forward, and was damn near invisible for long stretches for a guy who's suppose to score. Too many teams need centers and I think that's why we saw DL over paying him to keep him. If the Kings offered him a 1 year deal, he'd have sign probably in ANA for the same amount he signed in LA. Just my 2cents.

Did he really cut it lacing his boot on?
