Close. It was after the double-minor high-stick to Bennett with :37 left in Game 1. The penalties were 4-1 Florida after that call, 5-1 if your factor in it was 4:00 to Bennett.

I think the Panthers were the second most penalized team in 2022-23, so it's really not surprising, given the style they play.

The surprising thing is they played a penalty free game 3.

Pardon my mistaken information. Maybe what I actually read was that they’ve never won a third round series. This may be their season, we’ll see starting soon.
I was actually rooting for Leafs vs the Kings, I forgot that was in the semifinal.

You are correct. They've never won a third round series, which is utter misery.

They actually went to the conference final four times in nine years between 1993 and 2002. (oddly enough, two of them were when they were in in the Western / Campbell Conference).

They lost all four, and had home ice advantage in three of them.

I think we made the conference final in the late 70's vs the Habs too, but too lazy to look it up. No one was beating that team anyway.

The Leafs will lose tonight as there are too many distractions for the home team with too much time off. (eg girlfriends, housework, wives, kids, etc. etc) If I was Berube I'd sequester them in a hotel for the entire time they are in Toronto to keep them focused and sharp. It was ploy used by the great Scotty Bowman.

That's my fear as a Leafs fan. That can definitely happen.

I get the want to reference the 2023 series but I think it's a non starter for me.

The Leafs are different, yes, but so are the Panthers.

You can't just brush aside that team had freaking Colin White and Zac Dalpe on the roster....as well as Eric and Marc Staal. I mean, come the freaking on man lol.

The Panthers had to play in way to even out the talent deficiency as 2023 was a RE-TOOL year for us. People forget this, we literally had no cap space and we had to shop at the dollar tree to round out the roster.

The 2023 series is a relic by now. That roster overachieved and was CARRIED by Bobrovsky hard.

We didnt need Bob to carry us in 2024 and we dont need Bob to carry us in 2025. If we need him to carry us, then the roster is underperforming.

In '93 any high stick that drew blood was an automatic 5 and a game misconduct.

Gretzky should have been kicked out of that game, went on to score the OT winner.

I think they target Tkchuck and force him to do something stupid. He’s one of the most insecure players in the league, and will hurt his team if his head gets too big.

Muzzin broke him a few years back; shouldn’t be hard for Domi, McCabe, Knies, Patches to get under his skin. We have a pesty, hard to play against player on each line and pairing - there will be no escape for Tkchuck if they target him.

FYI Thachuk hasn’t played much in the first round. Hell be out there more for the power play.
