  • We sincerely apologize for the extended downtime. Our hosting provider, XenForo Cloud, encountered a major issue with their backup system, which unfortunately resulted in the loss of some critical data from the past year.

    What This Means for You:

    • If you registered before March 2024 but changed your email, username, or password in the past year, those changes were lost. You’ll need to update your account details manually once you're logged in.
    • Threads and posts created within the last year have been restored.

Our team is working with Xenforo Cloud to recover data using backups, sitemaps, and other available resources. We know this is frustrating, and we deeply regret the impact on our community. We are taking steps with Xenforo Cloud to ensure this never happens again. This is work in progress. Thank you for your patience and support as we work through this.

If you think a referee is thinking about giving Columbus borderline calls because of that in the third period of a tie game 70 games into the season you need to have your head examined.
It’s definitely not a conspiracy thing

Occam’s razor, the referee is just a mouth-breathing, blind dipshit who would screw up a one-car funeral

Besides the ref immediately waving it off instead of letting it ride as a goal then review it, CBJ had scored like 7 goals in their last 7 games. Isles allow them to score 3 in a single game. Isles fault losing the winner point for not doing a much better job for 60 minutes..

Yes BUT they did enough to win the game

This ain’t a situation where it was a goal waived off in the first period where a lot of shit happens inbetween it that would change based on what happened there

They won this game. The referees was j****** o** in the corner and wanted to get off by making himself the center of attention and Toronto didn’t want to ruin his money shot

Yes, but only because there's nothing to lose and the interference calls are so wonky this year.

Because it was 10 seconds left yes. But id there’s 10 minutes left in a 1 goal game, most likely not. But who the f*** knows anymore.
Then would have been inconclusive review, and goal counts. Much like letting close offsides go and review it later, ref should not have immediately waived that off.

that was an extremely frustrating game and outcome; Isles folded in the third and let CBJ back in the game - that was an embarrassingly poor third period.
There is also no way that goal should have been waived off.
And lastly the choice to put Duclair in the shootout when he is clearly one of the worst players on this team, boggles the mind.

Agreed on all your points. That was a garbage call on the ice to wave off the goal. And I almost busted a blood vessel when Duclair took the first shot in the shootout. How does Roy not use Holmstrom?

Default position surely should be a goal. And onus on officials to prove otherwise. That rubbish about it being inconclusive is just pathetic

Ref shenanigans aside, they blew this game. We don't have any business being in a playoff race, alas this conference is a whole bunch of mediocre by and large this year.

Two hours later and I still cannot get over what I witnessed at the end of this game. How that goal was first not allowed and then not reversed on replay is just simply put a joke. In a crucial game, the Isles were robbed of a two point regulation win and instead got one point while a team they are fighting with was handed two. It is just unacceptable how these calls continue to happen to us and there is never any accountability from the league and refs. I completely agree with Roy, Palms and Horvat. If Toronto is not going to overturn a call on a play like this what is the point of Toronto and how would they ever overturn a call. Palms is absolutely right that the ref was so emphatic and excited about waving it off. The goalie initiated the contact by moving out of position out of the crease to shove Palmieri. If this is not a goal at this point I don't see how we can even have any players proving a net front presence in this league.
It is just disgraceful and times like this is what it is hard to be a sports fan because the refs want to be the stars of the show.
This incomprehensible decision easily could be the difference in making or missing the playoffs. The players and Roy have every right to be furious. And watch them get fined while the refs and league officials just go about their clueless incompetent lives.
And this has happened to us what, five times in the last month, easily costing us 3-4 points.

Was it two games ago Sorokin was blocked from moving in his crease by an opposition player and we challenged the goal and it stood?
Roy was gobsmacked at the decision.
TBH I thought that was the correct call against us. But then you see that call tonight and just wonder WTF is going on.
