GDT: GDT #50 New York Islanders @ Philadelphia Flyers | January 30th | 7:30 PM | HULU/ESPN+ Only | F/W 3-0

And so it continues.

Another feel-good game.

Loved each of the three goals. Seeing Gatcomb score was real nice. The passes from Tsyplakov and MacLean were beauties as well.

When Holmstrom shoots like that, I always think it's Nelson. I have to do a double-take. It's becoming a thing of beauty. He's becoming a very tough player for guys to play against.

Also, I can't say I'm seeing anything in Perunovich thus far, but it sure doesn't feel like we're worse off with DeAngelo and him on that blueline. They can each move the puck and that seems to be main reason for our current success.

This is fun. For now.

At least. He is dreadful and puts a real strain on his partner. DeAngelo may not be a rock back there but at least he can retrieve pucks and start a breakout. His history says he should be a 50 point guy. If the PP/Barzal issue got addressed who knows. 1.5 - 2mil per for DeAngelo vs 7plus for Dobson. Hmmm
BARZAL ISN'T THE ISSUE!

Am I doing that right?:sarcasm:

That play is all Tsyplakov. Most of our forwards wouldn’t curl back that fast and push the play up ice with such urgency.

I love that he did that.

Man Holmstrom can really pick corners. If they could convince him to be a volume shooter he would easily pot 25+

Edit: Kinda random, but I’ve always liked #90 Richard on the Flyers. He’s got some speed and skill.
For Holmstrom I think this is a sign of maturity. He looks comfortable enough playing with the vets to be the trigger guy on a rush. Up until now I think he felt like he was deferring to his linemates.

My thoughts on Perunovich so far - he doesn't always make the best decisions with the puck, but he's decisive. Contrasting this with, say, Mayfield whose decisions with the puck aren't the best, and he makes them ponderously. He reminds me a bit of Toews when he first came up, but a bit smaller, and without the explosiveness.

These two (D'Angelo, Perunovich) are very lucky to be playing next to defenders who are at the very top of their games. It's kind of ideal situations for them. Heck, who wouldn't love to compete alongside a happy warrior like Romanov. And Pelech seems to absorb puck carriers like he's an amoeba again. All Perunovich has to do is avoid the detritus, and collect the puck.

I cannot believe this team!
This next stretch can really make or break the rest of the season.

LET's GO ISLES!
This is it. Doing great so far. Roy may be pulling another rabbit out of his hat again. LGI!
