thank god varly is an elite SO tender

second liner ???
Yep, if Duclair is going to miss significant time, I’m moving Barzal down to center the second line.

Can’t have a top line winger who is allergic to shooting…

Nelson-Horvat-Holmstrom
Tsyplakov-Barzal-Palmieri
Lee-Pageau-Gauthier
MacLean-Cizikas-Wahlstrom

Hagens time baby!

They may want to put that Solo Stove under the players’s arses.

Not liking what Horvat is turning into bc of one of his line mates.

This team made a self inflicted wound for 8 years. Just keeping hoping Tkachuk wants out of OTT and they are dumb enough to take back a figure skater as compensation (please, pretty please).

Same cry for your boy Petey last year living up his 11.5 million this year. Figure skater will be more than ok on the island here earning his dinero . Collectively the team is mediocre. We all know it. Lgi.

just finished watching......that was rough, ugly and indicative of a team that will not sniff the playoffs continuing to play like this.

Sorry for my late comments due to the Yankees-Guardians Game 5.

Not scoring during the 4 minute siege in period 2 was tough to watch, which Anders Lee mitigated in late 3rd, only to have Cole Caulfield to tie the game at 3.

Good for Dobson to beat Primeau in Round 9 of the shootout, right after which Varlomov to shut the door on Mailloux to win the game for the Isles.

Hopefully Duclair is OK.

Let's not forget that last night's game would likely have been an L last year

Ten games a year, you play ugly . . . Just win baby!

Hate to say it, but once again, the Isles need to learn from the lacrosse Man-up approach to help the PP . . . MOVEMENT . . . make the defense MOVE by moving the players around. We are barely opening up the skip pass lanes because we DON'T MOVE the PIECES. Watching Barzal is like watching Lyle Thompson . . . looks great when it works, but the other players start standing around and watching.

My first thought probably like others is that Engval is on the ferry back. Maybe not so fast if they shuffle the lines and put Barzal back at center. That was an ugly game for sure. PP is still struggling and gave up a ppg.

Other than Barzal, I thought Pulock was reluctant to shoot as well. Gauthier was not noticeable, but it was his first game so hopefully that will improve. Usually he is flying all over the ice.

Completely agree, Barzal is skating non stop, usually just multiple cut backs that dont actually open up passing lanes, while everyone else just stands still. No other PP in the NHL looks anything like the Isles PP

It’s only gotten worse year over year as the team tries to rely on him to be the go to.

It is not going to work, there will be little streaks it does, but overall, it’s very easy to play against as the opposing just needs to let him do his thing to the detriment of his own team.

Everyone keeps coming back for more on the 1 in 45 time it works.
