The isles may not have elite talent on the power play, but they do have enough talent for a top 15 PP.

If it’s not the flying Barzal entry, the red army possession game when you are not the red army, or whatever ineffective plan, its just not working with this crew year over year.
not sure why you'd think they have enough talent for a top 15 PP; pretty sure they were 19th last year. I am not convinced they're top 20.

That was a sloppy game by both teams.

Shutout twice in four games. I might just put “shutout” every game in the first goal contest. I like my chances.

Zero reason to pursue the goalie into the offensive zone on that line change from the Blues. Duclair has not made smart choices in key instances so far this season.

Bc it’s not that hard - it’s just very predictable and easy to defend. I just provided the two options they use 85% of the time.

Ah…Duke Bure. He’s just the other Bure, he’s not even a Bure, but the lights are shining on why teams moved on from him over and over…

I felt the team played an alright game. I don't mind OT losses but going 1-1-1 on the road trip is fine. It is fine if this team shows up and beats Montreal and Detroit coming up. They've got a ton of winnable games the remainder of the month and should have a good record by the end of October.

For some dumb reason one of the Isles went towards the goalie. Dumb, dumb, dumb. Let him do f***ing cartwheels with the puck in his zone if you want, guy is a good stick handler and if he gets it past you, you’re immediately behind the 8 ball
Duclair. And not the first time an error in judgement like this has occurred for him. This one blew my mind. What could he possibly have hoped to achieve? Basic 3v3 -you have to have a man, not the goalie though. This is why guys bounce around the league. We need his offense so you have to limit his exposure coach.

Watched the whole game and thought we played very well, just didn't finish.

The three road games we gave up 2.0 goals per and in the Trotz days, people would be creaming for that. Our shooting percentage for the season is only 7.5% and that will normalize over time. We are 11th in the league in total SOGs, while playing less games than most above us. 33 SOGs per game, at a 10% shooting percentage would mean averaging 3.3 goals per, which will win us a lot of games.

PP needs to focus on entries, that's the Achilles heel. More dump with speed. PK is looking much better the last 3, after the first brutal game. Sorokin looking so much better.

52.2% on faceoffs, weighed down by Horvat's 40% on 70 draws. The rest of the team is over 57%! Horvat's losing offensive zone draws on the PP is a major factor in the PP struggles. Pageau is over 59%, so it looks like his wrist injury is no longer a factor.

Only 18 PIMS so far, so the lazy holding/hooking penalties are getting cleaned up.

Two home wins against Montreal and Detroit and we are 3-1-2, which would be a 109-point pace.
