Like the 6-2 result, but the best thing to come out of this is Sorokin; hopefully he takes off.

What also stood out to me is the puck support in all three zones; that's something Roy preaches.

Tsyplakov is going to be great but there's some cute things he's trying to do that need to get out of his game asap. If you've been on the ice for a minute and the rest of your team is changing don't try and deke out 2 dudes. dump the f***ing puck

He played under Zhamnov last season, as far as I understand Zhamnov hated when players just dumped the puck, the same about Larionov. Old Soviet hockey school...

Must be nice for Sorokin not to have to face 40 shots a game by design. Roy’s system exemplifies that oftentimes the best defense is an aggressive offense. No need to box out in front of one of the best goaltenders in the game. Just focus on getting the puck out of the D zone and keep the pressure on. Let Sorokin take care of the rest and more importantly make sure he can see the puck. This system which focuses more on generating offense has a defensive game that is a big improvement over Lambert’s system and I believe time will prove to be just as effective as Trotz system without boring the fans half to death. Just so nice to see our skilled forwards playing up to their natural abilities rather than sitting back waiting for things to happen. This is great hockey to watch. How many times did people argue that the Isles did not have the talent or speed to play this style of hockey yet here we are.

Butchie said it during the broadcast and I would agree that Mayfield had a solid game. Missed the first ten minutes and sounds like from other posters, Scottie had a weak play that led to the Avs first goal.

Trying not to get to high on Sorokin's play, but he was dialed in and calculated. On to St. Louis baby!

Just catching up via replay, that first Brock Nelson goal was absolutely filthy.
Sorokin looked really sharp. Fingers crossed.
Lee had some good looks.

Pretty complete game. Tsyp trying to do too much hopefully was a learning experience. Wahlstrom and Mayfield on goal one- yuck. Pulock doesn't get enough credit. Play by Romanov to set up Duclair was sweet. Good game.
Pulock and Mayfield were playing big boy hockey. Fun to watch.

People have the same tired Isles takes from 2019 and haven’t updated their views

Always good to catch a contender early in the season when they’re struggling/injured.

Once again, replace the 4th line RW already. It's like trying to do CPR on a mannequin at this point and expecting it to come to life.
