Certainly looking half empty.

PP zone entries. That's a thing.

Bright spot; Holmstrom. Tsyplikov as well.

Rough looking out there and seeing the Hutton/Cholowski paired up but so it goes.

They won the previous game but conceding that early goal in third was a huge red flag for me.
With their recent history they should have been on high alert in the third and come out with a mission.
Instead they conceded in 15 seconds.
They are mentally weak.
Doesn't help that nine players simply do not score.. the defencemen and fourth line.
And Horvat is the big gun, but he's been average this season. The amount of grade a chances he's missed is amazing. He seems to fluff 1 or 2 a game. Last night he did it again. Should have put us up 3-1. He's not netting any on PP either.
ye as is production is a bit low this season. but he has never been A pt per game guy. usually good for around 60. he is not that far off though

maybe it's time to change the label from playoff bubble team to lottery team
It's not about a label, it's about a choice. A choice that the GM (and many of the fans) has made to accept being a middling team year after year in the vain hope that his middling team can somehow sneak into the playoffs and then catch lightning in a bottle. That only happens during pandemics and even then it only gets you so far. But to actually win anything of consequence you have to actually be something far more than the Isles have ever been during the Lou Era.

There's nothing wrong WITH that belief

the problem is when you know the line is reaching its end and you try to do it once more. 2023 was the last real good chance you could've done that, but now the window is closing, regardless of how good Sorokin and Varly are at carrying this team. We need youth, we need skill, and we need better coaches. All three are lacking, especially the skill and coaching parts.

Seriously if they tried to do a trade this deadline and added, there's a reason to be pissed

You have defined this era of Islander fan. Happy to be ok.
