I remember thinking Niinimaa would give this team the best top four in the league - didnt last longJanne Niinimaa broke me and I haven’t laughed since.
He is very comfortable with the puck on his stick. Some of our other past dmen like Bolduc treat the puck like a grenadeKid is smooth and calm. Reminds me alot of when Toews came up. Except he’s 3-4 years younger than Toews was at the time.
What gets blown more? Isles multi goal leads or Willie Brown?

3-1 so far with 14 goals for in those 4 games and zero blown leads.Another year of the team improving when Barzal is out....
I would hope making a decision of that magnitude wouldn’t teeter-totter whenever we win a few games against bad teams.Long way to go but nice to see a little bit of fight. Still think the team should be blown up though.
I’m ok on Cholo, he’s been fine but he’s playing eight minutes for a reason. Hutton was really good recently but same idea, I like him as a seventh for 14 minutes.George looking like he’ll stay up, hopefully Romanov is back soon, seen enough of Cholo and Hutton
This team is garbage, Hope they trade Barzal.Another year of the team improving when Barzal is out....
Bo Horvat has 7 points in his last 4 games. Before that, he had 5 points in 10 games. This team is garbage, Hope they trade Barzal.
I didn't like the way Horvat looked with Barzy this season. He played with no energy and just floated around the middle waiting for Barzy to feed him the puck for a one timer. Ever since Barzy got hurt, he's been playing more aggressive and all over the ice. He could drive his own line. Put Barzy on his own line with Duclair when they're healthy. It seems to be working with Lee and Pageau, both physical guys who keep the puck in the zone.Bo Horvat has 7 points in his last 4 games. Before that, he had 5 points in 10 games.
He must have just gotten hot after a slow start.
Horvat was being stimied by Barzal just as you noticed. He was waiting on Barzal, whereas now he’s playing his game vs reacting to someone else’s. It’s noticeable and while the 1-2 combo of those two can be sexy at times, it’s too predictable to the opponent and Horvat’s overall effectiveness declines.I didn't like the way Horvat looked with Barzy this season.
