Is it the abysmal effort of the supposed team "leaders" or is the coach the weak link, I think it might be both, BUT and it's a big big one. Is the coach actually in charge? It's this cores effort. It's the coach that never gets fired while being terrible and being bested in every series. It's a big snooze fest, they didn't even throw hits for 5 years.
Terrible entertainment product and you have to watch 500 betting ads per game. Thanks Gary Bet99man GTFO you POS thats destroying the league. Not even looking into whats going on and how its possible no Canadian teams can win a cup. There is a reason in there.
The owners should take back control but they won't, just happy with the wealth distribution scheme Gary runs, you can't lose money with Gary, he steals from the Leafs to pay for Arizona after all.

IMHO he is not! After seeing last seasons "apology-gate" it became very clear that Sheldon isn't the guy that's really in charge. I would say that the guy in charge, is still in the dressing room, wrapped in his sense of entitlement and over blown ego.
It's a real shame that this was allowed to happen, in the end it will be the impediment to winning a Stanley Cup. Having a guy like that in the dressing room creates an unhealthy atmosphere as they say these days.
Matthews and Marner are locks for the HOF if they don't get career ending injuries and Tavares is a maybe. 73 more goals for Tavares and he'll be a 500/1000 guy and only three of them haven't made it to the hall.Who and based on what?
I don't know about throwing single games for gambling purposes but teams definitely tank and lose on purpose for top draft picks. And everyone says teams would never throw games on purpose....
95% of NHL fans are still naeve enough to actually believe that
and now with betting? we ain't seen nothing yet
I still say the Leafs threw that series against the Habs a few years ago but hey
I understand your frustration but it's hard to believe that M&M don't care. Do you think the Bruins players don't care? Their fans have to feel worse than ours with the team they had last season. Maybe it's just really hard to advance in the playoff especially against a red hot goaltender.Personally I take the reverse approach to this logic. With the introduction of Matthews and Marner into the organization there came a new set of standards for the team to meet, which they continually fail at meeting every season. Eventually you just come to realize that winning just doesn't seem that important to M&M and you begin to lose interest in this team. If the core players of the team don't care then why the f*** should the fans.

Believing the players don't care ranks right up there with thinking MLSE doesn't care because the place is sold out.I understand your frustration but it's hard to believe that M&M don't care. Brophy does not deserve to be mentioned in the same sentence as the other two.I agree. Why apologize to the players? Jesus,... Matthews and Marner would cry like babies and demand to be traded if John Brophy, Pat Burns or Quinn were behind the bench.

Unfortunately I agree with everything you said. This team has no identity other than the Corpse 4 and they disgust me. Man are they ferocious at the negotiating table...wish they were like that on the ice. This team showed such promise. A good example of how money corrupts & big money corrupts totally. I will only watch if they make the playoffs. Actually I'm more keen on whether they have the balls to trade anyone. Shanhan & his Shanaplan BS disgust me. The players greed disgusts me....man how the game/players has changed since I started watching in the 60's....For me Bettman has ruined the game and I rarely watch. The owners are obviously stupid and deserve to lose fans such as they are now. I'm not sure why they like losing money and have such contempt for the fans. Hopefully with so many teams going bankrupt soon things will change. I find the game a bit boring and can't relate to the players anymore. They are overpaid and I think Marner needs to be dumped. Till then I'm out for watching reg season.

Agreed & I dont care...Then you won't be watching very much.
For sure.I don't know about throwing single games for gambling purposes but teams definitely tank and lose on purpose for top draft picks.
There's big money in sport and where there's big money there's always corruption. For sure.
Either way, it shows that teams throw games for whatever reason. Not all of them are in it to win it.
Whether it be regular season or playoffs, teams are losing games on purpose for their own reasons.
Which kind of corrupts the whole sport, doesn't it. Not just hockey, but all sports.
What, teams just throwing games? Nahhhhhh....
That's greatIf yiu are doubting your loyalty as a fan then its time to cheer for a new team.
Do they get me frustrated YES
Do i not understand some of their thinking YES
Do i not agree with some of their moves YES
But no matter what i dont like, disagree with or not understand i will always love this team.
Im reluctant to say I wont spend my time watching cause I have a leafs addiction problem however I fully agree with your sentiment. That's great
I'll always be a fan, but the current Leaf team, is an entitled, soft, bunch of losers. Failure is rewarded. If they won't even play as a team and stand up for eachother, and show some heart and courage, I have no interest in spending my time watching them.
