Eight teams, two divisions, three round robin games, 1st place plays 1st place for the Cup, 2nd plays 2nd, 3rd plays 3rd and 4th plays 4th for Olympic seeding purposes.

The only consideration is getting some NHL players onto some of the Euro teams.

They are just going to do the World Cup next time, which is what should happen. No gimmick teams and let countries pick players from whatever league they want. Simple.

Russia is banned form international competition and rightfully so for the foreseeable future.

Teams would presumably use non-NHLers, and even a team with non-NHLers can win at the best o best level, as we have seen before. Realistically there are not eight teams that can win the whole tournament at the best on best level, but that's fine. Tournaments always feature teams that are a threat game to game but not to win the whole tournament.

Is that 100% certain or if Ukraine is forced to a settlement will the IOC\IiHF have to
rescind the ban? What's foreseeable future defined as.
