Oh man, dare I hope this to be true?

In all seriousness I can see why certain teams might target him. He has the potential to do well in the right situation (partner, system). It's not like he's overall unable to play hockey. Maybe Toronto genuinely thinks he can work for them.

Nah Foligno was at one point a good player. Myers never has been.

He never was
Winning the Calder his first year, finishing 15in Norris his rookie season and 16 the year after proves he was good once and had potential to be great. Then he just, didn't become as good as once hoped. Then we signed him. He had a good last couple years though. and was actually a rock for us in our playoff stint.

2nd + prospect.
I landed on Mikko Kokkonen (3rd rd. pick, struggling to start this season, but under contract, so it's one in and one out) + Ottawa's 3rd (Should be a top-75 pick) and posted that on the Leafs board earlier. So, I'm in the right ball park. The Leafs are out their 2nd next season and the one in 2025 is likely gone as well. So, I think they'd try and guard that pick, even if only to have something else to dangle at the deadline. But, not unrealistic to see it used here too.

Myers is no a longer a burden contract. He was good last year. Would be a solid addition to any team right now.

He'd be great if he had some decent Hockey IQ. Very frustrating player.

Turnover machine, tends to think clearing it up the middle is the best idea. Takes a lot of bad penalties. Just a ton of bone head mistakes. It really is his downfall.

The pros - he can eat a lot of minutes, goes through spurts that make you think he's good. Likeable person. RHD.

Canucks need to start clearing some cap. Start with Myers... then go straight to Pearson.

I don't see a fit, unless it's 50% retention for future considerations. But even then, I don't think the Leafs would want him necessarily on the books still for next season
