He’s one of those guys who I hated, but even while hating him, I appreciated how well he played his role.

He’s top 12 or so in hits, gets under opponents skin, is probably more talented than about 80% of 4th liners in the league and adds an element the team needs.

There are maybe 10 guys in this league who I would adamantly be opposed to playing for the Bruins……he’s not one of them.

Every time the Bruins play the Caps I notice Hathaway. You can't say that about many 4th liners nowadays. He will be the hammer. Bolts/Leafs/Canes will be the nail.

Very strange the way emotions go … hated the guy and always described him as a Punchable Face … and now … Hit everything like a heat seeking missile . I agree , hell endear himself to Bruins fans very quickly

Maybe I’m getting old, but I don’t hate players like I used too. Matt Cooke was probably the last player I hated, but it’s been a while. Hathaway is an annoyance, but nothing compared to the actual loathing I had for guys like Lemieux, Samuelsson, Burrows, Cooke, Torres, etc.

As long as they win another Cup, you can add anyone to this Bruins team in the current NHL and I wouldn’t care.

it's a lot different when you hate a player who is actually a terrible person. hathaway is one of my least favorite hockey players,
but one heck of a human being according to several people that know him well. and as others have said, he's gonna blast
someone on the first shift saturday and that will be that. glad he's finally on our side.
