Games Tonight Affecting Sens

I don't see how this team will win the next two games. Without Brady, they are rudderless, and our other superstar refuses to shoot. We are going to need some help. It is funny how we are 99.4 or something but there is no way a real Sens fan thinks the odds are better than 50/50

Damn that’s too bad. Columbus was such a good story. Now Smurf city really needs to screw it up to miss. We should watch their tapes on how to hit the empty net.
Honestly don't care too much about who else gets in, good that at least one of them lost tonight. Sens are at the one yard line from making the playoffs in what seems like an eternity and to me that's all that matters. MTL being in will just make more chirping in my neck of wood which I don't mind at all 😄

We are in a really good position and most of the other games around the league don't really have an impact on us at this point. If you want a good comparison, look at our most important games this week versus Montreal and NYR.

Sens next game they are in is a "2" in terms of importance (0-100 scale) for making the playoffs. The next one is a 1/100 for the Montreal vs Flyers game.

Montreal on the other hand, their game against the flyers is a 21/100 importance, and the Devils/Rangers games is a 14/100.

We've separated ourselves, it's really between rangers, habs, and jackets for the 8 seed.

Man, the Bruins really look lifeless out there these days eh?

I seem to remember people saying we had an easy schedule to round out the year, so why does it feel like we're facing all the top teams and direct competitors while the Habs get to beat up on bottom-feeders? Just a random thought, no need to answer it

Yeah, I never agreed with the schedule being "easy". Too many of the games on the schedule are/were against direct competitors for the last couple of playoff spots, and therefore against highly motivated teams! Things would have been different had the Habs or Columbus lost a couple more games before the trade deadline and had decided to sell. Still, it's bad that we weren't able to collect more points against teams that are out of the playoff race (Buffalo in particular).

The last three games of the season (all at home) are the only ones that truly look "easy" to me. If we still haven't clinched by then (god forbid!), at least we're going to face truly bad teams such as Philly (although they are getting the dreaded "coach bump" right now!) and Chicago, and the last game is against Carolina who will probably rest their best players or limit their ice time at least.

The reality is there are no easy games. Too much parity in the league, but, the schedule absolutely was/is favourable. Home ice is an advantage. The opposition is a bit of a double edged sword late in the season. Some teams are resting guys for the playoffs or have lingering injuries, while some are healthy, others are playing loose with no pressure, so their position in the standings might not always reflect how tough a game will be, so you can't expect a game to be easy based on the opponent,

Yea, you can't really complain when the schedule is Sabres twice, CBJ three times, Detroit, Penguins, Flyers, Chicago... lots of winnable games with a few elite/good teams mixed in like Colorado, Tampa, Florida, Carolina.

It's never "easy" in an absolute sense but this schedule was about as easy as gets compared to what it could have been.
