OK here's my overall view on the Atlantic and the wildcard spots.

I think it will be hard to catch any of the Panthers, Leafs and Lightning, they are the 3 best teams in the division IMO. Tampa has the best GF/GP in the league, Florida is 10th and Toronto is 11th (Montreal is 12th, Buffalo 14th, Ottawa 21st, Detroit 23rd and Boston 26th) but they can also play 2-way hockey and have a lot of playoffs experience.

For the wildcard spots, I am not really worried about Buffalo (even if they should be much better), Islanders, Penguins and Flyers. Those teams are either on the decline or not there yet. I'm on the fence regarding Detroit, I don't have a lot of faith in their team for this season but sometimes a coaching change switch things up. They are 8-3-0 under McLellan, or was it after his first game? I think we're clearly better either way.

Now there is Boston and NYR, teams that were high in the standings in recent seasons... but they're getting old... and slow. They do have some elements that you could be worried about but I see them trending the wrong way so not the biggest threat for us. I don't think they have it in them as of now. Which leaves Columbus and Montreal that are probably our 2 biggest competitors for the 2 wildcard spots. But frankly, I'm not super worried about the Jackets, their goaltending isn't great and their scoring isn't even proven... I hope I'm wrong but I think both Ottawa and Montreal make it, hopefully a team beats them at the finish line so they don't get a good pick.

So we are in good position, but have to keep playing the same quality hockey all the way, can't afford any more stretches where we are "searching ourselves"

We have 3 games left against Montreal and 3 games left against Columbus! All those games will be extremely important. There's also 2 games against Boston and the Rangers, need to win these as well to crush their hopes.

Why tf did the Rangers think it would be a good idea to put Quick in goal against the top scoring team in the east right now?

Guess they thought CBJ would be the greater challenge this weekend but they must not have been watching Mtl play this last month.

I thought exactly the same thing. I was driving and decided to check on the radio then I kept hearing Quick, it was 4-4 late in the 3rd period and Dany Dube said that he has been "sensational"...

The problem is that when Patrik Laine plays, they have scored 61 goals in 18 games, so 3.39 GF/GP which would be the 4th best in the NHL this season. That number goes down to 2.82 GF/GP when he is not in the lineup.

Figures they play their backup against the Habs, while we get goalied by star goaltenders.

My concern is particularly this : 12-3-1 since December 17th and they beat Florida, Tampa Bay, Vegas, Colorado, Washington, Dallas and Utah on the road... and I just checked, they all played their starters except Florida and Tampa Bay

Their first 3 wins were against Buffalo and Detroit and they also beat the Canucks and Rangers at home but it's not like it was easy wins at home against lottery teams...

Just checked but they seem to have played starters vs other teams too (except the Jackets and one game against each goalie vs Detroit)

But it's true that we have played against better goalies this season than in the past. I guess it's both positive and negative, it's harder to score/win but we're getting more relevant to other teams.

Hopefully most of these will be Meaningful games….. looks like the vast majority are vs Eastern Conference teams

It's interesting because at the start of the season we had a tougher schedule than most teams by SoS.
Looking at the rest of our games, we need like an "Importance of Schedule". The World Juniors being held here basically made us do all our western swings already. Like, look at that schedule, we only visit Nashville and we only host Colorado, Chicago, San Jose, and Utah the rest of the way.

We have a chance here to gain an incredible amount of ground on the other teams in the east.
