5 wins in a row. Really didn't see that coming.

Shout out to Hinostroza and Zohorna who have been huge in stabilizing the fwd lines.

Yeah, we've been gushing about Zohorna obviously but Hinostroza has had a massive impact on that 4th line as well. He brings all of the speed and tenacity of Archibald while actually having a decent amount of skill.

I'd love to see what Zohorna-Eller-Hinostroza could do, but I'd rather not screw with what is working.

Sid basically won that by himself. EK was good and bad at times and IMO Geno was pretty bad outside that one shift. Petts a quiet +4 and bitch all you want but TJ making 5 saves on a 3rd period PK in a tied game is a huge reason they won.

Pretty gross game but the superstars ended up outskilling the Jackets.
Yeah as good as EK was on the goals/assists he did have a few real boneheaded plays as well. But the good far outweighed the bad.

Agreed that Geno's head was elsewhere tonight. He was fine with the puck but his defensive play was very bad. He's been great defensively this season outside of this one though so hopefully an off night.

What a human Sid is.

Karlsson is everything we hoped and more, and hasn't even really gotten rewarded production wise until recently. Rest of the season is going to be a joy to watch this guy with Sid/Geno/Letang/etc.

Have to clean up some of lazy play throughout the game, but outside of some brainfarts by Geno and Graves, for the most part they controlled the game. Which is why its such a shame when they give the opponent free rushes up ice off dumb turnovers. They have the high end talent to win most nights if they just keep it simple.

Keep on streakin.

It's funny how Hinostroza is basically a replacement level 4th liner and still a vast, vast improvement on Carter

He's not, though. I think that's really what he's showing right now.

I think he's just a legitimately good player. His issue in the last few years is staying healthy, not being bad.

He has 150 points in 363 NHL games, which is a pace of 34 points per 82 games. It's not really surprising at all how effective he looks, he's been a good player for a majority of his NHL career.

We find ways to win games, different ways, just like we were finding ways to lose games...luxury to have some elite players that can step up at times and always bring it...

Sid is still the best palyer in the world pound by pound, what he means for his team, what he brings, etc...he is not chasing points, records, etc...but he is so solid..
L3 good game tonight, too bad they did not score they surely deserved

a lot of room to improve,

I'd give Shea chance with Letang, Graves was abysmal tonight

Except that he got lost in a shuffle at that last goal Letang was awesome

what a luxury to have this Tanger + EK65..with Sid and Geno like this, they should be contenders as long as Jarry is slightly above average

I put Karllson because Sid is always good when he is not scoring goals he can play really good defense. Sid's grinding game compares to no one that has ever played the game though.

If EK and Sid start connecting on that side of the net play Sid might score 40 goals this year lol.

+ + 3rd line
+ 65
+ GCR
+ Malkin line sans first period
+/- Jarry looked skittish for most of the game but came through with some timely saves, especially on the kill (did not think the PK was good, he bailed us out)
- Malkin line in first period
- - Shea. Think he got benched. POJ will be back in next game.

We only had one pp tonight sadly, but there's still so much room to improve.

Pp 1 doesn't have anyone that is willing to screen the goalie. Maybe swapping guentzel/ smith to pp 2, and putting hinny or big z on the first pp for that role specifically?
