Game Notes

Erik Karlsson has 22 points (4G-18A) in 28 career games against the Flames, which includes 12 points (2G-10A) in his last 13 games against them.

Kris Letang has 19 points (4G-15A) in 22 career games versus Calgary, which is his second-highest point total versus any Western Conference team.

Sidney Crosby’s next game-winning goal will move him into a six-way tie for 16th place on the NHL’s all-time game-winning goals list. The five players with 92 game-winners are Johnny Bucyk, Mark Messier, Mike Modano, Jeremy Roenick and Jeff Carter.

Crosby has 26 points (13G-13A) in 21 career games against the Flames. Here at the Saddledome, he has 11 points (5G-6A) in 11 games.

The Penguins own an overall record of 389-90-47 when both Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin record a point in a game.

Malkin has been one of the hottest Penguins out of the gate, accumulating a team-high 11 points (2G-9A) in seven games. Malkin has recorded multi-point efforts in four games this season, and only Nathan MacKinnon (5) has more multi-point games than Malkin. Malkin’s 11 points on the season are tied for fourth in the NHL.

Lars Eller tallied twice in Winnipeg on Sunday afternoon, giving him a team-best four goals on the season. Eller, who’s riding an active four-game point streak, is one of just eight players in the NHL to have more than one multi-goal game this season. Eller’s four-game point streak (4G-2A) ties his career-long point streak previously set eight times, most recently from Apr. 10-16, 2022 (3G-4A) when he was a member of the Washington Capitals.

Karlsson registered an assist on Sunday afternoon in Winnipeg, giving him five points (1G-4A) on the season. Four (1G-3A) of Karlsson’s five points have come in four road games, and he is tied for fifth in the NHL in points on the road among active defensemen.

The Penguins rank second in the NHL with 24 goals through their first seven games of the season. Pittsburgh has 12 players on its roster that have scored this season, which is tied for the fourth-most unique goal scorers in the NHL.

Crosby enters tonight’s game two even-strength goals shy of tying Luc Robitaille for the 13th-most even- strength goals in NHL history.

Sidney Crosby and Kris Letang have combined on 303 goals in their careers, which is one such effort shy of tying Anze Kopitar and Drew Doughty for the third-most goals combined on by a forward-defenseman duo in NHL history.

Tristan Jarry has found success against Calgary in his career, posting a 4-1-2 record, a 1.92 goals-against average and a .938 save percentage in seven career games. Jarry’s 1.92 goals-against average is his fourth-lowest against a single team and his .938 save percentage against the Flames is his second-best versus a single team.

Jesse Puljujarvi has been productive out of the gate for the Penguins, registering five points (1G-4A) in his first six games played. His five points are the second-most that he’s accumulated in his first six games to start a season. The 2021.22 sesaon, which was Puljujarvi’s best five-game start to his career, also doubled as the season where he established career highs in assists (22) and points (36) in 65 games. Puljujarvi has 14 points (8G-6A) in 24 career games against Calgary. It’s the most points he’s notched versus any one team.

Wilkes-Barre/Scranton has started their season off hot, going 3-1-0-0 out of the gate through their first four games, which includes an active three-game win streak after dropping their season opener. They’ve tallied 17 goals through their first four games, which is good for sixth- most in the AHL.

From an individual standpoint, WBS is led by 2019 first-round draft pick Sam Poulin, who is tied for ninth in AHL scoring with six points (1G-5A) in four games. WBS has seven players averaging a point per game or better.

Koivunen’s four assists are tied with Laval’s Filip Mesar (MTL’s 1st Round Draft Pick in 2022) for first in the AHL among rookies, and his four points are tied for sixth among league rookies.

I don't mind a bit of line shuffling.

Would prefer NOT to have Acciari at center but whatever.

I don’t know how if you were a Pens fan in the mid 90s you aren’t a fan of robo Pen. Some great nostalgia feelings every time I see it.
Because the logo Is associated with disappointment, underachievement, culture club atmosphere, and corporate BS.

Debuted with the David Volek goal and went out with a bankruptcy.

Come to think of it, I guess it would be fitting to bring that demon bird back. Give it the Sully smirk.
