don't get why the Tully men were so eager to drop their arms after willing to be part of a siege with the Blackfish. Without River Run, what exactly is Edmure the lord of?

Instead, we get to see Arya doing nothing for 2 ****ing years. Brilliant spending, guys

Not true.

We get to see her wash bodies!!!

Seriously though, so many wasted scenes. That joffrey death play, pod/bronn and tyrion's "tell me a joke" scene for the second time this season.

Pissed me off.

So it looks like it's down to the Knights of the Vale as the only possible backup for Team Snark ( Snow + Stark )..unless there's a twist/surprise that comes in and saves the day. Something like the other houses finding where they've been hiding their northern honor and riding in at the last minute or someone else suddenly finding their honor and do what's right such as.... Jaime Lannister.

They don't have an army yet, I bet that battle is the final episode. How many are left.

The title for the next episode is called The Battle of the ********. The fight for Winterfell and ultimately, the North is next week's episode. They even had a trailer for it that looked amazing.

They will spend all of episode 9 building up the battle, they will show them charge and then cut to black and show the carnage of the battle, the way they did with the Stannis-Ramsey battle

Two more episodes left and I feel like this season is almost as bad as Season 5.

I hope the final two episodes are of Hardholme like quality.

No they wont lol.

Its episode 9, episode 9 is always the biggest one of each season.

Also, what do you guys think the rumour was that Cersei was looking into (if it hasnt been mentioned already and i missed it)? I'm assuming that its about Tyrion being alive.

Here are the possibilities:

- Tyrion being alive
- The Hound being alive
- Sansa and Jon attacking Winterfell
- Littlefinger riding for Winterfell
- Gendry just rowed into Kings Landing

The bolded are most likely, the other 3 dont make much sense.

 The actual parts of the battle are shown in the trailer, and it is directed by the guy who did Hardhome. They have him specifically to film battles.

Tons of battles next week, and possibly in episode 10, is I assume why we've gotten some lower budget cuts this season.

The show's writers actually made some good decisions, but of late they're really making poor choices.

So what did Arya learn, exactly?

How to fight in the dark. It actually makes sense, unlike her being stabbed, nearly bleeding out and then being able to jump out of windows and roll down stair cases. As others have noted, real waste of time with her storyline for some time now. The point is that she can fight, but it didn't take that much screen time to convey that story.

My guess is the Iron Born will help save the day unless the Dragon toasts all the boats.

Most likely. Problem I have is that the other two dragons were nowhere to be seen.

Riverrun was also pretty pointless.

Well it makes sense to sort out what happens to the Blackfish. Problem is that it was so horribly written. So the Blackfish allows some ******* to open the gates, then sees off Brienne and Pod and then goes back up to his death? After he previously escaped and took the castle? Yeah right. ****** writing.

That episode was ****ing terrible.

1. Arya is just a complete moron and was indeed watching the sunset last episode. Also God bless her miraculous ability to heal wounds!

2. Dany with another one of her usual cliche intros

3. Blackfish dying off screen

4. The Waif dying off screen

5. HBO completely ****ing with us, showing the clip of Pod being strangled in the trailer, only for it to be a complete non factor involving Bronn (although it was funny)

Handily the worst episode of this season.

The timing and mystery surrounding the comment probably rules out most of those. Littlefinger is the only one that makes sense because there is a pretty direct connection and it could lead to something.

I suspect that she has something on the High Sparrow, or thinks she does.

Any chance it could be Cersei asking Qyburn to look into the caches of wildfire planted around Kings Landing by the Mad King? Just watched the scene again and I believe Qyburn referred to it as "that old rumor"... seems like it could be. Cersei has nothing left at this point, so it'd make sense.

EDIT: Lol, beaten.
