I think the Edmure thing makes perfect sense from his perspective, and I think it may have been one of the few redeeming elements of the episode.

Ya I'm fine with it. Seemingly anti-climatic, but overall the result made sense. I'm even ok with the Blackfish being a stubborn fool, since he wouldn't be the first man in this series to die needlessly.

Edit: Seriously...how didn't Arya bleed out? Is she getting transfusions off camera? It is just so forced. It is clear we are supposed to be cheering for Arya, but it just comes off so wrong. Also the wound that she reopened suddenly closed itself and she snuck into the house of black and white without anyone knowing?

Arya plays Skyrim in god mode.

Everyone was so overthinking the Arya storyline last week, it was literally as straightforward as it seemed.
But I think the reason they were overthinking that storyline was because they were holding onto the fact that "no way are the writers going to **** the bed this blatantly. In fact, many of us acknowledged that point exactly.

This was kind of the worst case scenario for how that all played out.

I think it was only anti-climactic because of how poorly all of that was executed, not so much because of the decision itself.

Edmure turning on Blackfish to save himself and his people could have hypothetically been turned into a great moment. Instead it kind of just awkwardly limped along.

I fist pumped so ****ing hard at that ending. One of my favourite lines in the entire series.

Arya ****ing Stark, baby.

"A girl is Arya Stark of Winterfell... and I'm going home." BOOM!

You must have one mean ***** for arya if you're happy about how all of that went down.

Edit - that word is censored? Really?

My only issue with the Blackfish is his off-screen death. It seems odd to bring him back, build him up, then not let him go out in a blaze of glory.

Here's how I think this season will wrap up:

The North - Snowbowl in Episode 9, Jon and Sansa will retake Winterfell with LF's help

Meereen - The Dothraki horde kill the masters on land, the Greyjoy good guys will take care of them by sea. Yara/Theon offer their services to Dany. The Greyjoy fleet + the slaver's fleet takes everyone on their way to Westeros. (finally)

Varys - Going to Westeros...probably meeting with Dorne to set up a nice welcoming party and an additional army for Dany when she arrives.

Arya - Starts on her way back to Westeros...She's been in the dark as to what's happening since she left, so probably heading to Castle Black to find Jon but sees Bran instead?

Sam - Goes to learn about White Walkers at the Citadel

Bran - Arrives back at Castle Black in time to see a White Walker siege of the Wall

King's Landing - I think this is where the **** hits the fan in Episode 10. Jaime comes back with his army just in time to see Cersei attempt to burn the whole place to the ground with wildfire. He has flashbacks to when he had to make the choice of killing the mad king, but in the end decides to rescue Cersei instead. Many casualties including the HS, Loras, Margaery, and Tommen. The ashes over Kings's Landing that Dany saw in her vision turns out to not be from Dragon fire, but from wildfire. Cersei and Jaime escape back to Casterly Rock with the Lannister army.

Brienne and Pod - Heading back to the North in the aftermath of the Snowbowl

So pretty much the various storylines have consolidated back to a few locations in Westeros to set up Season 7.

The North - Jon, Sansa, Bran, Arya, Brienne, Littlefinger
Westerlands - Jaime, Cersei
Dorne - Dany, Greyjoys, Tyrion, Varys

Hahaha, I do not. She's alright looking.

She's just my favourite character. Has been since the start. And that last line was awesome.

I see some people *****ing about her arcs, but **** me - most arcs are kind of boring and I still eat it up. Ever single Daenerys storyline has been pretty awful - but I see most people give her a free pass cause she's smoking hot.

Cersei and Margaery have both been annoying or boring lately - what's the difference?

At the end of the day, I don't see much difference between most of the storylines. Hell, Gendry was one of my favourite characters and he probably won't return until the last episode when every single person is dead and just sit on the throne, lol.

I don't know. I love the show and that's that. Boring, annoying, whatever. I still eat it up.

And Arya Stark is the ****ing best (along with Bronn).

Being boring and utterly making no sense are two very different things. At least the things that motivate ceseri and co actually make sense down the line. With arya they took you for a ride and then bent you over and resolved nothing other than that she knows how to slice a candle and stab people in the eyes.

Also walf wasn't even on her list, she's a murderer! :sarcasm:

There's really no defending Arya in Braavos. I really couldn't if I tried. Massive waste of time. There were countless other ways for Arya to refine her skills as a young warrior/assassin.

I don't care as much about the not bleeding out thing. Yeah it's stupid but I didn't expect for a moment that they would actually kill Arya off.

And what kind of ***** is Edmure? So he was his wife once, has never even set sight on his supposed child and then is going to turn his uncle over to the people that slaughtered how many of his family members?

The show doesn't give the specifics but there can't be a lot of Tully mean in the castle, I'd guess maybe 500? Enough to make it a bloody, difficult siege, but there loss would be inevitable. The Blackfish is an old man and may be keen on going out swinging in a fight to the death defending his home, but for the rest of his army who aren't old men they're probably relieved that Edmure came in and ordered the surrender.

Yeah I was the closest to calling it saying the actress would patch her up, but even I made it to complicated with how it would turn out after!

Even the explanation for how Lady Crane could patch her up was awful. She stabs all her boyfriends so she somehow got good at healing them.

The payoff is worse on a repeat view. So Arya is daredevilling through the city running from the terminator (Waif is legit doing a terminator impression) until she reopens her wounds, hobbles to her hidey hole. Can barely even stand up with Needle until she cuts the lights, and suddenly is all better.

She then walks into the house of black and white easily and in no pain. What? So is she Daredevil or Wolverine?

Without making specific quotes about Edmure, I'd just say the following:

-Unless I missed it, his reasoning wasn't to "save his people" but rather about his wife and child. And again, a wife who he spent maybe a day with and a child that he doesn't even know exists. All of this isn't to mention his clear distrust of Jaime and having no real reason to believe he, his wife and child and his people won't still be slaughtered. On top of that this comes after his lecture to Jaime.

-As for the Blackfish saying to kill him I think Edmure understood what his uncle understood.

Hopefully we see a few things next week:

-Ramsey die a painful death at the hands of Jon.
-Tormund crack some skulls.
-Brienne return and save Sansa somehow whilst lopping off heads.
-Melisandre stepping out and throwing fire around.
-First and foremost Ghost grabbing hounds in his mouth and tossing them aside left and right.

Instead we'll probably get:

-Ramsey stabbing Jon in the back.
-Tormund getting out manned or something like that.
-Brienne in a boat with Pod for 20 minutes.
-Melisandre walking around her tent naked for 20 minutes, and I mean old Melisandre.
-Some hound biting Ghost's tail and killing him.

Yes. It made that chase scene super silly.

I would argue this was one of the worst episodes of the entire series.

At this point the Arya storyline would be better if they cut to her waking from a dream next to the hound when she was naming off all the people she wants to kill before she went to sleep.

I'm guessing we don't see her till the season finale where she boards a ship for Westeros and maybe they show her getting off the ship. But it's essentially played out exactly how I thought.
